OK RED is ALWAYS POSITIVE, The BLACK is ALWAYS NEGATIVE. In a 12 - 24 VDC DC circuit.
(In a AC Mains Circuit, in a USA, AC Circuit though, the BLACK is PHASE (+) and the WHITE is Neutral (-) ..) GREEN, or any other wire left over is ALWAYS the EARTH.
BUT always use a meter to check out ALL connections back to the battery generator. Always meter out, +, - & Earth.

know how to hook up the three power wires (1-red and 2--black). (sic) You say THREE but Only mention 2? red & black?

I'M REPLACING AN OLD LEVITON ROTARY DIMMER WITH A LUTRON PADDLE DIMMER. THIS IS A 3-WAY SWITCH. THE ROTARY DIMMER HAS 2 BLACK WIRES, 1 RED, AND 1 GREEN. THE NEW DIMMER HAS 1 BLACK WIRE, 1 RED, 1...

with a three way switch like this, you will have two traveller wires and a common wire. Look in the instructions for the switch or on the back of the device itself to see if there is a wire labeled "common" or "com". This common wire from the old switch hooks up to the common wire on the new switch. I did a bit of searching on the leviton 6602, but couldn't find anything specifically about the three way version (I would venture to guess, however, that the red wire on the old switch is the common). The common on one of the three way switches will always be a constant hot (or power) wire...the common on the other three way switch will be the "switch leg" or the wire that connects directly to the light. The two travellers go to the other two wires. Check the pamplet that came with the lutron device, it should show which wire is common and which are travellers.

I bought the thermostat used,I need the hook up diagram to install it on my oil fired heating system, which presently has an older controll,I just want to up grade to the T860002028.

If you just have oil heat then you will have two possibly three wires, but if there is four no problem. R red, W usually white. this is for two wires. if your wires are not colored just connect them to R and W.
Three wires red to R, White to W, Green to G, the black to C.
Red wire is power off the controller, white is power to the burner control, green is the fan relay if you have one, black is common to the fan relay power supply. Good luck

Hello i have a williams wall Furnace model#25-35-50. I need to know if its a base board heat and also if you could tell me which wires are which. 1 red and 1 white

What you have is a Direct Vent, Gas WALL Heater. It is normally mounted about 6" off the floor on an exterior wall (since it has to be direct vented out). Not sure what the red and white wires are for, but suspect it's for the optional thermostatically controlled blower connection.

In any event, to help you install this heater properly, I have included a link to the Owner/Installation Manual, which should provide all the information you need to complete the installation correctly.

Help with wiring for a drop in stove top

This is not to code. The white is neutral and is of the same polarity as a bare wire. The red and the black are considered hot and would be 220.

Need a basic diagram to wire a ceiling fan.

Depending on how your place is wired will dictate the solution here.

The light box in your ceiling should have two or three wires. Black and White, or Red, Black and White.

If you have two wires (one switch to control everything):
Black is power - hook this to the fan's power wire (and the fan's light wire if applicable)
White is neutral - hook this to the fan's neutral wire.

If you have three wires (two separate switches):
Red is power for the light - hook this to the fan's light wire if applicable
Black is for the fan - hook this to the fan's motor
White is neutral - hook this to the fan's neutral wire.

Pilot blights wont stay lit on older model American gas range

Take a very small wire and clean out the pilot holes. Then find the pilot flame adjustment screw and re-set your pilot to 1/4 inch flame.

I bought a C80 Raymarine Plotter this has a NMEA pigtail with Brown, Screen, Yellow, Green And White wires I haave also bought a RS 125 Receiver this has a pigtail lead with Red , Green, Yellow, Brown and...

If you have a Raymarine pilot it makes sence to wire it all up to Seatalk. Wire as follows Red to red , silver to silver, yellow to yellow, brown(on rs125) to silver on seatalk buss Green (on rs125) to red on seatalk buss. The above is for the conection between RS125 and C80.
To hook the pilot to system you just need to hook the seatalk lines (red, yellow, silver) from the pilot to the conection with the RS125 and the seatalk cable to the C80.(Color for color). The sea talk connection for your pilot can be picked up from you course computer they are labeld and colored on the unit.
If you are not running a course computer as in the case with the older wheel and tiller pilots you will need to take a sea talk cable and cut it. Once it is cut you will see the red yellow and silver wires and you can tap into there . Remember to connect the cable back together were you cut it. Hope this helps
