How to open computer case

Almost all HP desk tops have a removable side panel. On this model it should be the right side. There will be a silver screw on the rear edge of the panel, loosen it and the panel will slide to the rear.

I downloaded bing the other day because my windows update suggested it. Well, The Bing desktop is smaller than my screen! I want to fix the desk top, so it's the same size as my computer screen. Right now...

Go in control panel click on Add or remove programs or programs and features Look for Bing Desktop or something like that. And double click it to uninstall. After the uninstall is done reboot the computer then it should be gone.

My desk top comp does not keep the actual date & time, even after repeated corrections

Even when you turn the power off on your HP desktop computer, a small battery much like a watch battery keeps time and stores basic system configuration information.
If this battery runs down or is damaged, it is easy to replace.
Turn off your HP and unplug all cables attached to it.
Unplug the power cable last.
Turn the computer around so that its rear faces you.
The panel on the computer's right side will be attached to the rear panel with two small screws near the top and bottom of the computer.
Remove these with your Phillips screwdriver.
Slide off the side panel and put it aside.
You should now be able to see into the PC.
Locate the CMOS battery.
It will be a small, flat, round metal disc embedded in a cradle near the center of the motherboard (the largest circuit board in the computer).
Use a flat-head screwdriver to release the catch on the battery's cradle and remove it.
Note which way the battery was oriented (positive side up or down) and its voltage (engraved on the battery's surface).
Call or visit a computer supply store and purchase an identical replacement battery, using the specifications gleaned from the original battery.
Snap your new battery into the cradle, orientated the same as the original battery.
Reattach the computer's side panel and reconnect all cables.

HP Desk Top Pavillion a815n - what type of mother board battery does it use?

The motherboard battery is the CMOS battery that has a part number of CR2032 and can be acquired at your local Walmart or Target type store. You will need to remove the side panel of the computer to get to the motherboard and just look for a round battery should be silver looking. Remove it and replace it with the one you purchased if it needs replacement that is.
