Hi john673,

make sure that the specific driver/software for that camera is installed properly, apparently the audio driver for the microphone is also included on the software packaged with it. If you din't have the drivers, you may try to download it here:

if the camera and its drivers are installed properly, you may check the voice recording properties of your pc and try selecting the philips/usb microphone from the drop down box.

hope this helps

Cheers and best regards,

please keep the microphone a bit away from ur screen... its because, powerful electro magnets will be ther in the microphone... wen u keep it very close to the screen, the waves cause the fluctuation in the screen which wil shorten the life off ur screen

I want to put my video on my pc but im not sure what connections from camera to pc i have a sony and i only see on the pc a place for head phones or for a microphone

Your camera probably came with a cable that helps you do this. The cable has a rectangular USB connector on one side, and a smaller trapazoid connector on the other end. This cable connects your camera to your PC. The cable goes into the side of your camera, and the larger end goes into the BACK of your computer. There are usually 2-6 USB connectors on the back of the computer. It doesn't matter which one you connect the camera to - they're all the same. When you connect the camera, your computer should automatically come up with instructions. Good luck!

Microphone doesn't work with small plug

I'm just taking a stab in the dark here but bare with me on this, I got a lot of info stored in this old head so it takes a while.

If you look at the jack for the microphone, Does it have 2 sleaves and a pin or just 1 sleave and a pin. If it has 2 then you will need an adaptor (Normaly Stereo jack to XLR). If it has 1 sleave then your going to need a preamp.

Ive conected my philips webcam SPC110NC to the usb port in my computer and ive tried to use it on windows msgr. no pic has showed. me and the person im connecting to have the same camera, neither one can...

What a joke. You have to install or at least configure drivers (from Philips; read what came with the camera for a site to get drivers by) for the camera to work. Then, when you can select the camera as an input device and 'scan' images (e.g. in GIMP or IrfanView or some photo tool) from the Philips unit, you're ready to configure Windows Messenger to use it. After should be seeing pictures fine.

It's like you connected a piano to an orchestra, but no pianist (or more directly, a camera head to a vision controller, but no shutter sync control.)
