The humming is caused by the power source, a part (most likely a capacitor) has failed and acts as a short overstressing the source. If your electronics skills aren't good enough for you to open the tv, locate the failing capacitor and replace it, then call a repair guy ASAP, longer you wait bigger the damage becomes.

While I agree that the "Humming noise" is coming from your power source, Try this first. I think you've got a Ground Loop... Cut the Ground prong off of your amp or stereo, and it'll be instantly fixed. Don't worry the Ground prong doesn't really do anything anyway...

Sound okay on tv but no sound on bluray player

Make sure the audio inputs are on the same input as the video cable.

Tv and speakers buzzing noise

If the hum is a low note continuous hum, its at 'mains' frequency. The power cables to the unit (or inside it) are getting too close to the cables that carry sound signals to the center speaker. The mains power naturally hums and if mains wires are near to audio kit wires they pick up this sound and play it through their system/speakers. Check the wires to and from it make sure the connections are good and firm. Seperate these wires by at least one inch from any power cables, use tape to hold them down and away from each other.

My subwoofer is working but I think it developed a short ciruit. The input jack in the back hums but no sound? Am I right and where can I go to get it repaired?

you need to perform this ...one end of the jack is on the input of your unit and the opposite end try to touch if there is hum ..set a maximum volume..to hear it better...if there is sound your unit is good..if without, your input is deffective..make sure that our jack is good.

Make sure that the volume is not muted or too low on the TV...the TV volume output to your receiver will be performing the function of a pre-amp to your receiver. Then select the appropriate input on the receiver that you have the TV audio connected to.

Humming noise when volume over 40

This hum could be from a ground loop or a bad main board in your TV.
1. Try removing all the inputs from the back of the TV.
2. Unplug the TV for about 3 minutes and plug it back in.
3. Turn on the TV and go to HDMI1 input.
4. Turn the volume up to see if you hear the hum.
5. If you hear the hum without any inputs into the TV, then the problem is with your main board, or with the quality of power you have going to your TV (your wall outlet may have an open or bad ground). You can try plugging the TV into a different outlet across the other side of the house (to try a different circuit) to see if your power is the problem.
6. If you don’t hear a hum without any inputs into the TV, then the audio hum is caused from one or more of your inputs.
7. You will have to plug in one input at a time into the TV, and turn up the volume to see if that one input is creating the hum. If the TV hums, then you have a problem with that device and or the cable that connects it to the TV.
8. There is a chance the hum will occur when two or more devices are connected to the TV at the same time. So be careful of this issue. This issue is not the fault of the TV and is a grounding issue between the devices.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.

WORKED FINE WHEN TURNED OFF, THEN NO SOUND WHEN TURNED ON

1. I would first make sure that correct "INPUT" setting is registered.
2. Try a different input source such as VCR, DVD or CD.
3. Connect a pair of audio RCA cable to all the VIZIO set's audio inputs one at a time and touch the center tip while the set is powered ON and the input is set to the corresponding seting. If audio circuit is OK you should hear a hum with at least one of the input settings..
4. If still no audio, then it maybe the audio circuit board needs to be checked.
