Re: zenith p42w34 will not turn on
Before Opening, double check something for me and post a follow up. I have this tv and I believe it has dual power buttons. One main and one secondary. A remote can't turn it on unless the main power button on the bottom left is on.
Please post follow up.

HI As your discretion your tv have problem with the X Buffer board which drives the X plane of plasma panel. Replacing the X buffer board is a Skilled work And also there is some risk to do the job by the person who is not a qualified electronic technician. Try to contact any one near you who is experienced in the same. If you are confident that you can do the same then inform me i will assist to you to do the same. Ajin
Turn off the TV then unplug it. Disconnect the cable connection and clean the terminals. If the stripes still exist, you have a bad TCP (tape carrier package). It is responsible in transmitting color information to the display panel from the X-Drive (A-Bus) Board. This is not an easy repair. Service of an experienced or a qualified technician is recommended.
your tv is talking to you basically, is telling you that the lamp has to be replaced. this is a common problem with this dlp tvs, when the lamp is bad the shuts off within minutes, so just replace the lamp my friend.
