I have lost wheel socket, so cant remove wheels, special stud in each wheel

If they are Factory Wheels Dealer should get you a key Socket. If they are After Market Wheels then depending on the exterior shape and size of the special Lug nut get a LUG NUT REMOVER SOCKET SET from a Auto part Store. Since you will have to use a Impact wrench best will be to go to a Professional Tire and Rim Installer and they usually have all kinds of Lug nut remover sockets.
Send me a clear picture and diameter of the lug nut to suggest further solutions.

Deformed lug nut on 2002 jaguar x-type 3.0 (17 inch wheel), deformed with 12 point socket wrench spins now. How to do you remove ?

find one size down socket and extension bar then use hammer carefully but firmly to bray onto lug nut once on use ratchet with a piece of pipe placed over topof ratchet handle for extra leverage and should crack off if not u can buy extraction kit from motorspares shop or you could hit top of nut with chisel to score then take normal wheelnut thread on backwards ie flat edge first ov er-tighten then slacken this should cause it to get a bite of lugnut and loosen both hope this helps

How to remove lug nuts from wheel

Use a good "T" bar or a standard breaker bar with the appropriate socket on it. If they are partially rounded use whatever socket is just under the size it's supposed to be and tap it on with a hammer. If they are very tight use a breaker bar with a pipe on the handle for additional leverage. If they are severely damaged you may need to either drill the center 'till they are weak enough to snap them off or have a shop do that for you. (most are easily replaced).
When removing lugs, loosen them first while tire is on the ground. After they are broken free, lift the vehicle with a sturdy jack on a solid surface (use a plank of wood if on soft dirt etc.) After lifting continue removing the nuts. Never place any part of your body under the vehicle. If the jack fails you can be badly hurt.

What wrench is needed to remove the 2002 GTI lug nuts?

they are the locking wheel nuts(lugs)and you will need a key(not a hex allen key)to remove them.if you look close you will see that the sides are not equal.
I use a nut spilitter or an old socket hammered onto the nut to remove it,means replacements but next time you buy a car check to make sure you have the radio code and the wheel nut key.

Stud is stripped out in the rear wheel of my 93 honda accord Cannot remove wheel

do you mean the lug nut or the lug? if it is a lug nut then take a metal file and file down the flats to a smaller socket size so you can get a firm grip on it with the smaller socket

Wheel nuts on back wheel of 06 ford focus stripped.

Hi Ray,

I put in some time at an auto salvage yard. Aluminum wheels were big sellers and not something we wanted to damage.

When the lug nuts needed some persuading, we got out the high impact 12 pt deep sockets.

First try we used the correct size.

If they were stripped, one size smaller. We hammer them on to the lug and use a breaker bar with a pipe extension.

The only real problems we had were getting the lug nuts out of the sockets.

Good luck and best regards,

I have a stripped lug nut and a stripped locking lug nut and i cant break neither one losse what should i do

If you have a socket you are willing to destroy, Find a socket that is as close to the size of the lug nut, but not bigger. Whack it on with a hammer, use a socket wrench (with enough leverage) to remove the lug. Locking nut: Find a socket that is about the same size as the lock nut, follow steps above. **This only works with the star shaped lock nuts and the ones that "key" goes into.

I own a 2002 jaguar x-type and i need to know the lug nut or wheel nut size

I believe the size is the measurement from any of the flat sides of the lug nut across to a flat side directly across from it. So to make it easy to measure, just remove one, and I assume it would be measured as metric. An easier way would be what size metric socket fits the lug nuts? That would be the nut size.
