Question about Nuova Simonelli Premier Maxi Espresso Machine

1 Answer

I would like to be able to adjust the flow of the water my nuova simonelli maxi machine. The water flows out of the machine in about 10 seconds and stops which is way to fast. Seems as though the flow should be about 17 to 21 seconds. This flow is without drawing an espresso shot from the machine. I am unable to find a manual to go with the machine. Thanks!

Take the cup warmer off the top and find where the water line comes into the machine, follow this line to a tap that has a screw in knob. If you turn the know clockwise it will slow the flow of water to the hot water spigot.

Nuova Simonelli Premier Maxi V , 2005...when water turned on machine constantly leaking from the pressure relief valve and the hot water valve.

Has the machine been in cold storage? If no then the inlet solenoid could be the culprit. There might be sediment keeping the valve open.

Hi I have just bought a Nuova simonelli premier maxi and the warning light keeps flashing above the coffee pot sign. Any ideas welcome

Hi, is the water tank filled with water? Did you perge the system, remove air locks? Is coffee beans filled?
Sometimes when these machines are new or used and sit for a while, you have to purge the system.Try turning on power and when ready light comes on, use the frother knob to let out a steady flow of steam.
If this machine was always in use, then you may have to ``descale`` the system by running a solution of descaling liquid thru a few cycles.
Try this ,hope it helped you..

Water will not come out of the brewing head but will flow from the over flow valve.

I can think of 3 issues, the screen is clogged or the solenoid has a blockage at the pathway leading to the grouphead.

The water flows very slow on group 1. On the other group it flows ok.

There could be a couple of reasons for this. The simplest could just be that you need a new group (brew) solenoid valve, yours might not being opening fully. You could also have a clog some where. Take the shower head out and soak it in PuroCafe over night. If that doesn't fix it you would have to start checking the jets in the head and or the tubing that supplies water from the heat exchanger to the groups.

Could be a couple of things. You will know if the pressure is bouncing around by watching your gauges. You want to pull between 9-10 bars when pulling a shot. The programming issue could be the fact that if it is used it could have what I like to call
a touchy brain board. Those do have to replaced every so often depending on how much use the machine gets. You can reprogram whenever shots start pulling bad until you have no choice but to replace the brain board. They are cashy. To program: push the stop and pitcher button at the same time and all lights will start flashing on that head. Have your grind set, use a lined shot glass and measuure your shots according to short or long, watching the flow, crema etc. The ultimate shots pull between 25 and 28 seconds.
Hope this helps.

Doesnt work when its warm

The pumps in these are low resolution pumps and don't seem to take a lot of stress. We ran the same machine with three groups 362 days a year. You probably need to replace the pump. You should watch your gauges and be pulling 9 - 10 bars when pulling a shot. The top side of your gauges is water pressure coming in. Sounds like a new pump. Good luck.
