1. This might be due to the software which you are installing.
2. Try installing the same software to some other system, restart it and find it out, if something happens only in your system or in all the every system. In this way you can find out the problem if in your system only or with the software which you are trying to install.
3. Make sure that you are having administrative privilege in your machine in which you are trying to install the software.
4. There is some software like Deep Freeze which restores all the changes done to a computer when it is re-started. This is used by some system administrators. Ensure that there is no such software installed in your system.
