Depends on age but usally means a new Battery is needed, the suppliers class them as consumables and only give usally a 3 month warranty on batteries.

Try draining the battery completely and then charge it fully with the laptop switched off.
If you don't know how to drain it out completely, please let me know.

My laptop wont charge when charger is plugged in it will turn on but the computer will stay at 0% battery what is the problem?

HI there, IS it a new Laptop. If yes what you can try is removing the battery and then switching it on.. Once its started just reseat the battery while its on power. You might have to try it 2-3 times if that doesnt help then your battery is broken..
Kind regards

The toshiba laptop a505 S6980 will not charge the battery when the AC is plugged in and dies immediately if unplugged . Meters shows 0% available (plugged in), charging. But it is not really charging.

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

My laptop won't charge

What do u mean by "adjust the cord" ? If u have to adjust by twisting the jack in the power input port then it is neither the fault of the cord nor the of the battery but may be the fault of the power input port.
Go to Toshiba service center and they will solv the prob.

The laptop won't charge and the charging indicator doesn't turn on when the transformer is plugged in. It appears that there is a problem with the power port on the laptop.

Hi,
Use similar power output rated Toshiba laptop adaptor and test it again. If charges, then there should be some problem with the power adapter. Replace it to solve the problem.
If still exists, then the problem may be within the laptops' power circuit and you have to give laptop for service to rectify the problem.
Thanks

It has only been 2 and a half months sinse i bought my toshiba equium A300D series laptop. Once i have fully charged my laptop i only have a hour to use until it needs charging again. I never had this...

this happens to every laptop after a while, although after only 2 months it should be ok, you may need to send it back under guarantee, but remember you will have more things running now then when you first had it, using more processor power and also any usb peripherals youve added also shorten battery life.

My Toshiba Satellie P15-S470 turned off by itself and I can not mak it to run.

Sir:

Is your laptop connected to a power source? If not it needs to be recharged...
Check also the battery of your laptop, it might be dead already... meaning even if it is charging the battery doesn't charge anymore... it may need replacement.

To check the battery... remove it from the laptop and find a flat button to check if the battery is charged, or half charge, or none at all. If below half then the battery needs to be replaced.
