SOURCE: Noisey Cub Cadet mower

If the noise is coming from the deck, locate the idle pulley on the deck. there should be 1 or 2 rubber "bumpers" at the opposite end of the pulley arm where it meets the "j" pin. If they are missing, it will make a loud metal to metal sound.

SOURCE: My Cub cadet pto cluch bearing is froze up on my 2518 lawn tracto

A medium length extension (stuck through the grill), a swivel and an impact is all you need to remove the pulley with the frozen bearing. It's just a bolt, a washer, and a lock washer holding it on. You just need to remove the pulley to see if the bearing is stuck. Take the pulley to your local shop that can press bearings and you can be up and running for $20 dollars instead of $300. Here's a diagram I found on partstree:

I have a cub cadet 1024 Seriers 1000 with a 50 inch deck. I think the bearing (Throwout ?) on the clutch is out.

Just a thought, just check if the pulley does not have a locking nut or key, if locking nut would potentially be small allen key threaded shaft between pulley and axle, and key would be identified as a little slot or gap between axle and pulley, hope this might help, good luck

The clutch has it's own brearings in it. You have to replace the hole PTO.Sometimes you can find a Aftermarket PTO clutch. There usually A little cheaper.
