Question about GE Lands Phones

Hi... my cordless 5.8 model with 3 satillites has a base that the charge light will not stop blinking and when I try to use the handset the dial tone sound like it is off the receiver (beeping) before the tone is steady. any solutions? and the digital for the number of call that came in also will not stop blinking going back and forth from cl to the number?

    this solution haqs not solved the problem...both lights are still blinking and the broke up dial tone still happens before making a call

You have either a bad base, bad phone or bad battery.
You will need to rotate these items until you find the culprit.
First try another handset in the same base. If the problem persists the base is likely to be the cause. If the problem goes away it is either the handset or its battery so swap batteries in the phone with another handset.. If the battery swap fixes it get a new battery. If it doesn't then replace the handset.

Unfortunately this is the limit on what you can do. Cordless phones are cheaper to replace than to fix so all you can do is try to find the failing part and replace it.

My best guess is that you have a bad battery and the beeping is a warning that the battery is failing.

Hello.

Not certain if you have tried this, but disconnect all the power to the phones. Wait at least 10 minutes.

Connect one phone at a time. If/when the first one works, connect each of the others.

    You didn't indicate if your phone system is connected to a router, such as LinkSys. But, if that is tru, reset your router.

Hello,

I will advice you try reset the unit, once the unit is reset, the problem should be fix. Follow this steps to reset the unit,

Turn off the phone, remove the AC adapter, press and hold the page/call button that is on the phone and plug back your Ac adapter, this will fix the problem.

My Uniden 1560-3 has out of range on all handsets but one. I only have a dial tone on one handset. Please advise how I can correct this problem


Reset the hand sets that are out of range by doing the following:

1) Press and hold END and # for at least five seconds.
2) Move the cursor to select Base Unavailable and then press Menu/Select.
3) Select the base which you want to de-register from, and then press Menu/Select. Base Unavailable appears.
4) Move the cursor to select Yes, and then press Menu/Select. You hear a confirmation tone,

(For DCX150 handsets)
5) Place the handset in the base cradle for about thirty seconds. Handset Registering will appear in the LCD.
6) When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

(For DCX200 or DCX300 handsets)
5)Disconnect the base AC adapter. Then press and hold find while you reconnect the adapter. Keep holding
find until the charge LED starts to blink.
6)When charged, registered handsets display a handset ID number. Handsets that have not been registered display:
7) On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
8) When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

The phone lights up when put to charge also the red light on the base,, but when the phone line is connected it wont work ..What do u think is the problem?


The battery in the handset could be bad . First I would test that the base unit is recieving dial tone by pressing speaker button on base unit. If there is dial tone then problem is in handset or in base unit communication to handset. Try resetting power to base unit. Check manual for any re-initialization procedure. If the base unit is not receiving dial tone then I would test that the phone line is delivering dial tone to the base unit by connecting a known good phone to the line cord. If the dial tone is not present , problem could be in line cord from outlet, outlet, building wiring, or service provider.

All lights on base are blinking, no dial tone


walk close to the base and check that the handset is working if it is try taking the battery out of the handset wait a moment and put it back in if that doesnt reset it you will have to look in your owners manual and see how to reset the hanset autherization so that the base will see it. if you down have a copy of the owners manual you can download a copy off the manufactuers website or manuals.com

1. Disconnect Battery from handset(s)
2. Disconnect Phone Cord from wall jack
3. Disconnect Phone cord from base unit
4. Disconnect AC adapter from wall outlet
5. Allow to sit for 30 min
6. Reconnect Phone Cord to base
7. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack
8. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet
9. Reconnect Battery to hanset until you click or feel the plug snap into place
10. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base in most instances.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.


Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

Voice mail message waiting light does not light


Press down the "find handset" button until the paging beep stops (about 5 seconds) and this will reset the indicator lights on the handsets.

Problems with handsets


Are they cordless phones?If they are they get there dial tone from the base.If there is a blinking red light on the hand sets they lost communication with the base.Check your user manual to see if you need to program them to the base.

Handset has No link to base


I was having the same problem with the same model phone, and fixed the problem by rebooting the phone – unplugging the AC and phone cord from the base station and plugging both back it, then removing and replacing the handset to regenerate the security code.

Handset No Link To Base error and no dial tone


I have the problem. I think it is because the battery i have in it was a Ni-MH and it should be a Ni-Cd. I am now looking for the right baterry Good luck Frank wolfgang24@verizon.net

2/29 Have you registered or re-registered the handset?
"No link" can mean handset is not accepting radio wave of base unit. At Mfgr website pull-down operator's manual and look for registration instructions. Some sequence of buttons will create a radio signal from base (have handset off base) then another sequence of buttons on handset will accept radio signal. If handset has "menu" button, try "menu", then "00" (zero zero) then select an accept or "OK" button. Good luck.
