Question about Sony VAIO FXA36 Notebook
My screen is dark, but with a strong light, I can see the image. So I'd like to replace the backlight but haven't figured out the mechanics of accessing it. Can't locate the screws to disassemble it.
It is not likely the backlight but the inverter as they blow most often.
it is also inside the lcd panel. it provides dc to high voltage to the lamps.
easy to find on ebay usually.
you will likely see some plastic dots around the frame , remove them and the screws are behind them.
other versions of frames just clip on and you have to insert your finger along the inside edge of the bezel plastic trim and pull it toward you and away from the edges to un-clip
don't put pressure on the lcd as you do this as it can leave marks.
once you get an edge loose you have to work your way around without breaking the snap clips.
