I have the grounds hooked up and the parking brake wire grounded. The remote and power hooked up to the battery but all i get is the blue light to show the deck is getting power but no buttons will work. I dont know what else to do please help me out someone.

This wil show you how to take it apart if that becomes necessary. But try this instead. First hold the eject button down for 5 seconds. I that fails look for a tiny hole near the disc slot. Use a straightened paper clip and push it in the hole firmly. This should eject the disc. Another option is to use firmware to eject the disc. Follow these directions:
To eject a disc with Open Firmware commands, follow these steps:
Restart the computer.
Immediately after the startup sound, press and hold the key combination Command-Option-O-F. Note: The Command key has the Apple and () icons on it.
Release the keys when you see a white screen that says "Welcome to Open Firmware."
At the prompt, type: eject cd
Press Return, then wait a few seconds. The disc drive should eject any disc that is present, and "ok" appears behind your command when the action is complete.
cyclying sound may be laser "trying" to read the disc, try a new store bought disc and see then , if it plays ,lasers on the way out , if u get the same sound try to obtain the service manual for the unit , most repair shops will not look at it if they dont already have a service manual . see owners manual for what discs it will paly , rw "burned " mp3 ect . its not ejecting because of possibly different issue .if error is displayed contact grand prix electronics (they made the unit) and see if they can revise solution
So I decided to verify all the connections after I got frustrated with it. Everything was correct except one wire that was on the new harness I got that for my car that was labeled "12V fused" (supposedly the key on power source). I tested it with my volt meter and it did not have power at any time, even with the key on. The constant power source wire was hooked up so that's why I was able to open the face and eject CD's and DVD's but not do anything else (like when your ignition is off). So I ran a new wire from my fuse panel and everything works now. Just like my Thermodynamcis professor says "nullius in verba" (take no one's word for it), just because the wire was labeled doesn't mean it's right! Hope this helps.....
It seems you have opened the top cover of your unit. Now take a dry cotton bud clean the roller which you can find right in front. Please do not use any liquid to clean the same.
Please cast your vote for me if this solve your problem.
Try to power down the unit and the power it back up then press the eject button. If this does not work there might be a hole in the front of the unit which you could insert a paper clip which will actuate a mechanical release switch. The last thing you can try is to open up the unit and manually rotate the load and unload motor and this will eject the DVD. Restore the cover and then start up the unit to see if things are ok.
