    we have PIP picture.
In the small PIP picture size, we have our cable PIP and we have no volume.
How do we get our picture full size and get the volume back?

  • ratwater4948 Sep 06, 2010

We do not have a PIP/POP button - only a PIP
    Our model number is VS50703
Pressing the PIP button slowly does not bring picture up to normal size, and does not bring sound. Neither do the PIP channel select or PIP input. Thank you so much.

  • ratwater4948 Sep 06, 2010

my husband had to leave for several hours.
Can I still ask a question severalhours from now?
I don't know how to work the remote or do any fix problems.
Thank you - we are an elderly couple that only have one tv and are unfamiliar with set ups.
    Thank you so much

We finally got the large picture, however, now the PIP box is solid black and even though we're pressing the PIP button, the solid small PIP box does not disappear. Thank you.

Go to menu, find tuner option. See if there is a setting for AIR or CATV. It should be set to CATV.

Then you can watch your cable channels.

Try pressing exit menu. Make sure Closed Captioning is off. If needed, unplug the tv for about 4 hours. Sometime while it is unplugged press and hold the power button for 10 slow seconds so the tv can reset. It should turn PIP or closed captioning off.

On the remote there's a button labeled PIP/POP. Press it slowly until the image will return to normal, with sound.

Make sure the remote is set on TV then press Exchange - this should flip the PIP images. The big one with sound will be the cable and the small one will be blank. Now press PIP button - the small screen should be gone. If you can't do that from the remote then use the buttons on the tv: press MENU, go to PIP section and first switch the image then close it.

  • Azrael SRL Sep 08, 2010

Then do it using the buttons on the case. Apparently the button on your remote has aged and has stopped working - you will have to replace the remote.

If u have neither picture or audio and the power light does not blink to indicate that there is an error in the circuitry than it is most likely the power supply and will require both a technician and a part to fix

hope this helps

Hi, The dead display is possibly down to a capacitor problem, see fixes already covered by me, it's a 33uF capacitor either on the display board or if a newer unit on the main pcb, these cost less than $1 there is only one just change it.
The no audio may be a simple fix, do you have sound from the head set socket?, if yes then look for one of my other fixes on changing a resistor near the control socket, if no then I need to have a think... If the unit has no sound or display after changing the capacitor it could be a power supply fault. Fix the display first and let me know.

Sony DCR-HC32 display problem

replace the flexwire asap, it's hard to fix and you need pro help to do it. flexwire has a possibility of shortcircuiting the unit, the reason your small viewer started to show problem. Here in the philippines i'm not replacing it with an exact replacement, instead i'm replacing it with the more strong wires or cables such as the one used in laptop computers, still, you need profix to do it. No tv picture

Its possible that you changed the channel or the input line your TV gets the cable signal from. unless you caused more of a problem while trying to fix it, I would suggest you to go through the TV(not cable) channels to see if you can find the one that gives cable picture, or to go through the different input settings(TV/AV on older TV's, and 1, 2, 3 etc on newer ones). one general icon for the later is an arrow going into a circle. I think its the "select" button on your TV remote. Good luck
