Question about Lexmark T630 Laser Printer

2 Answers

No power Hi! I just bought this unit with less than 500 pages printed. *Plugged it in - powered up and self printed network status page. *Installed drivers and tested a couple of pages, no problems. But no duplex option indicated. *I powered it down lifted it off the duplexer to check for issues. *Replaced printer on duplexer, plugged in power cord - and no light - no repsonse. *Power socket does appear more loose in the unit than I would expect. *Have tried various cords and power outlets. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer. Bret bmhl64@gmail.com

    Hi Jigeo,

Thanks for your input. But it seems my model must be different as the help points you provided do not seem to correspond with what is in front of me. Though do excuse my ignorance if I have misunderstood.
The two front doors I have, access the toner or the paper tray and no green tabs? I must say that this is not a "new" unit. I bought it used today, with less than the 500 pages printed.
I have partly disasembled the unit, as there is no warranty and found, as best I can determine, everything in very good shape.
The real issue is it won't power up - no power light?

I will see if Lexmark has any advice.

I did resolve the problem. It was to do with the main power board, which needed to be replaced. Not to expensive as I bought another (older) second hand printer for not very much and worked out how to remove the board from it and replace the damaged one in the near new printer.

I believe the problem arose from me moving the printer while it was turned on and some movement occurred between the extra paper tray and the main unit causing an electrical spike/surge/short ? A very simple mistake that was costly in time.

Hi Bret! Since this is a brand new printer, I would advise calling Lexmark. I'm afraid that you may void your warranty if you do much more at this point except for going back through the steps to make sure the duplexer was installed correctly.
1. Power off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet
2. Push the release button, and gently lower the front door.
3. Release the green tabs and lift up the image transfer belt.
4. Remove the cover over the duplex connector.
5, Remove the duplex option from the packaging. Carefully install the option into the printer, under the image transfer unit. NOTE: Make sure to line up the arrows on the duplex option with the arrows on the printer. Make sure the duplex option locks into position.
6. Lower the image transfer belt back into position. Make sure the belt locks into position.
7. Close the front cover.
8. Plug the printer back in, then power the printer on.
9. Try printing a few pages to confirm that the duplex option is securely installed. Then select the duplex option in the software and print a few double-sided pages to confirm that the duplex option is working.
The following link will take you to the instructions for enabling the duplex option in the software.

If the above does't work, I would strongly suggest contacting Lexmark for further help.

Please i want to know if konica minolta magicolor 1690mf is wireless printer? and how do i set the two sided print.

The Konica Magicolor 1690MF Printer/Copier/Scanner is connected with an Ethernet Cable or USB Cable. It is not equipped to operate as a wirleless printer. It has a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet interface port and a USB Revision 2.0 High-Speed compliant port.
To do two-sided printing you must have the duplex (double-sided) option installed. This also requires either Tray 2 or the Attachment to be installed underneath your machine. Tray 2 is the optional lower feeder unit which increases capcity of your machine to 500 pages. The Attachment comes with the Duplex Unit.
Only Letter and A4 plain paper (16-20 lb bond) can be autoduplexed. With the duplex accessory installed you can do duplex or double-sided printing automatically.
From within Printer Preferences select Two-side Printing > Automatic. Shoud have choices of Off, Manual or Automatic. Within the Layout Tab for your work you may also be able to specify duplex (double-sided).
Should you have continued difficulty, please reply and advi e if the duplex option is installed and with which software and operating sysytem you are using.
Thank you for using FixYa!

Need set up Lexmark C534n to our office network.

Does the printer have an IP already assigned to it?

Print out a network settings page:

Printing a network setup page
If the printer is attached to a network, print a network setup page to verify the network connection. This page also
provides important information that aids network printing configuration.
1 Make sure the printer is on and Ready appears.
2 From the control panel, press .
3 Press until Reports appears, and then press .
4 Press until Network Setup Page appears, and then press .
After the network setup page prints, Ready appears.
Note: If an optional internal print server is installed, Print Network <x> Setup Page appears.
5 Check the first section on the network setup page, and confirm that Status is “Connected.”
If Status is “Not Connected,” the LAN drop may not be active, or the network cable may be malfunctioning.

If that is an IP not on your network, then you need to change that IP to an unassigned IP that is on your network.

You can do that by typing in the IP of the printer into a web browser (example: Http://ipaddress)
Then you should be able to modify the IP address from here.

Once the printer is on your network, make sure you have drivers for it installed and then just map any worksttaion to it.
