Question about Televison & Video

My 5-year-old 15" set goes on fine but turns off by itself in 10 seconds. Not a cable issue, no electrical surges on other appliances--I have unplugged it for several hours and tried again, but the same thing happens. Reception is fine on other sets. Can this be fixed?

I am a viewer, not a technician. This is not useful information for me. Can you at least tell me what such a repair can cost?

Can be the aging issue of dry soldering. If the fault is so consistent or evident on tapping of the set or if you think it is a thermal runaway., then it is important to take a look inside and check the areas of heat.
If you can solder these sections , take it as the first option.
however if the fault is very much time based it can be relative to the microprocessor which can be tripping off in a set schedule.
the fault can be fixed for sure but if the fault is with the microprocessor, then you will need to take some voltage checks to confirm tin the off and on state.

When I turn on my Sony TV, ti stays on about 30 seconds then shuts off, What do you think is wrong?

Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

Refrigarator not working after power outage

When power goes on and off suddenly, it can cause the compressor to overload and "trip out" This is supposed to protect the compressor from being electrically damaged. In most cases, after 10 or 15 minutes, the compressor will reset. It is usually safer to switch off the fridge or unplug it for 10 to 15 minutes to ensure a full reset. If it doesn't start, the power surge may have damaged the compressor relay. or overload device on the side of the compressor. I would doubt that it damaged the compressor itself. Be aware of the relay and overload device, unfortunately, there are Techs who will quote for a compressor job when all it needs is a relay or overload.

Electrical problem with FA561XF

Could be the breaker. Sometimes breakers just get old and will not hold when a power surge goes through it as when an electric motor first starts up. You have already replaced the compressor with a new one so I would check out the breaker situation. STAY with the same size breaker

My tv screen begins to turn blue while watching tv.

The box may be the issue----try unplugging it and wait a bit and power it back to let it boot up--same with the set.

Also if you have a DVD player look to see if it has this issue or not.

Set is 7 years old - it turns off intermintently

Ours used to do that - and then we moved it to another state with us. Since the move it doesn't shut itself off anymore. I suspect that the problem was dirt and dust inside which got knocked loose in the move and the shutdown was due to thermal limits being exceeded. You may want to try vacuuming or blowing out the dust inside if you feel comfortable opening up the unit.

Lamp goes out after 10-15 seconds

Recently had a similar issue.
When I took the lamp out (Let it cool for awhile first), there was dust all over one side preventing air from the fans from cooling the lamp, so it shut itself off after getting too hot.

Hello ashankhan,
huuum,happy to assist you!

You said,
I have GE Madellion 870 Washing machine
I guess I have motor problem
motor stops after smoke
Now Motor spins for few second then stops
after 15~ 20 minutes, it will run again for few seconds
if my motor burned then why it still runs for few seconds.

The motor is shot and it still works until it heats up, and then it binds up after it over heats!
