Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have an hp officejet j4660 all in one printer. There is a message that reads "Scanner failure, unable to scan, copy or send a fax." How do I fix this when I haven't been able to use the scanner in the first place. Email me at msrcleare@coralwave.com

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Unable to send, copy or send fax

Sounds like the scanner bulb is burnt out or it's not able to move the scanner sled.
It should be saying "scanner error" as well. (and I think you meant unable to scan, copy or send fax)
No fix unfortunately other than getting a replacement unit (which I believe now is the 8500 premiere)

If you need a replacement, your timing is good, they are $200 off right now, and selling for $299.

Your unit as it stands still makes a good printer and will receive faxes, and you CAN send a fax as long as you do it from the computer.

Your printer should still be under warranty.
Either take it back to the place where you purchased it or call HP. Their number should be in your manual.

Scanner failure unable to scan, copy, or send a fax

Hi and thank you for using fixya:

I would recommend trying one of the followings:

1- install a fresh copy of your printer/scanner drivers.

2- check your firewall program it might be restricting the scanner software .

3- check the connection between the scanner and the computer

Good luck
