Ouch! That is an expensive one... a little over $7 here:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?lang=en&site=US&WT.z_homepage_link=hp_go_button&KeyWords=g30n60c3d

The BAD news is that USUALLY other things go at same time or cause the failure. If you miss replacing a second part that is degraded, then you blow out the new one. Pay particular attention to the gate limiting Zener diode... it may be blown open and would result in instant failure again. Also ALL parts associated with the gate drive of that transistor.

The circuitry for this amp is rather complicated and a lot of other parts need to be checked for damage before putting full power on the unit again.

When firing this up, put a 250 Watt lamp in series with the power input to act as a resetable fuse to avoid blowing out the part again... It is good to use a variac to slowly bring up the voltage at first. If the lamp stays lit, better keep looking for bad parts.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a Peavey 8600D can I safely run 1 main

When you unload one amplifier you stand the chance of killing the amp's output transistor. If you must use only one speaker, you have to bridge the amps.

Speaker daisy chaining , am I going to damage my amp etc.?

The Peavey CS4080HZ is intended to place 2,040 watts
per channel into four-Ohm-rated speaker
impedances. The "HZ" suffix is intended
to state the amplifier has a relatively high
impedance output and is optimized for no
lower than four-Ohm loads. Are you strapping in Bridged or Stereo Mode? Bridged Mono Operation
Both amplifier channels can be bridged together to make a very powerful single-channel monaural amplifier. Use
extreme caution when operating in the bridged mode; potentially lethal voltage may be present at the output
terminals. To bridge the amplifier, depress the rear panel Bridge switch to the IN position. Direct the signal to channel
A's input and connect the speakers across the hot outputs (the "+" binding posts) of channels A and B. Only channel
A's input attenuator is active while in Bridge Mono mode. Both connectors are strapped together, so either connector
can be used with a patch cable to drive the input of another amplifier.
Unlike the stereo mode, in which one side of each output is at ground, both sides are hot in bridged mode. Channel A's
side is the same polarity as its input with the minimum nominal load impedance being 4 ohms (equivalent to driving
both channels at 2 ohms) in bridged mode. Driving bridged loads of less than 4 ohms will activate the DDT
circuitry, resulting in a loss of power, and may also cause a thermal (overheating) overload.
Therefore, check the impedance of the cabs for each mode. Remember, if you connect two individual speakers in Parallel (+ to + and - to -) you cut the impedance in half. Two 8 ohm speakers in parallel now have a load of 4 ohms. Series connection + to - to + to -, will double the impedance. Two 8 ohm speakers will have a load of 16 ohms.
I have actually taken a two speaker cab with a 4 ohm impedance and opened up the back to re-do the wiring. I rechecked the impedance with a ohm meter. So yes, be careful. Whatever you do, keep the speaker lengths as short as possible. Buy really good speaker wire or if you make your own, go with 10 gauge wire.

I want to purchase a pair of peavey versarray 218 subs but not sure what amp I should use to power them

speakers are rated at 4800 Watts "program"... for safety, I would use an amp that can deliver around 1200 Watts RMS.

I have a Peavey PV 2600 amp, when it is switched on only the fan works but nothing else. It is three or four years old and it was given to me by a friend, roughly how much would it cost to repair and get...

Either have it fixed or offer it up as broken at auction.

Estimating cost is near impossible, however labor could easily be aver $100.

The fan is controlled by a rather complex circuit depending on thermistor temp sensors. The temp sensors appear to also shutdown the amp.

If the fan comes on instantly, there MAY be a failure in this circuitry which is inexpensive parts...

Each side of the amp has 10 major power transistors and if all were blown it would add significant parts cost to the repair.
