What has happened, since you do not have batteries in this stat and it is showing no display, you have lost the 24 volt power to your stat. I don't know the age of the unit, but you need to go to the indoor unit and pull off either one or both panels. Find the circuit board . If it is fairly new, you will have a control board and it will have a plug in type fuse in it. Its the same type that your auto uses. It will be a 3 to 5 amp fuse. Using a flash light, check to see if it looks blown. If you are not sure, shut off the power and remove it. Replace it with one that is good. This should restore power back to the stat. Make sure you put the panels back on properly, as you may have a safety switch on the perimeter, and if there not on right the power will be off. This switch has to be closed by the panel. If it keeps blowing the fuse, you have a dead short somewhere in the unit. It will be in the control/24 low voltage section of the heater. It would help if you could tell me what kind of unit you have, name, model, serial, number, if it is a gas heater. If it has a indoor unit and outdoor unit, and so on. Check out this fuse as they sometimes just get weak and blow. Hopefully that's what it is. Please let me know what you find. Please don't forget to rate me as I know you will be kind, and I will be checking back in on you.

Totaline P374-1100, backlight not working

Are you referring to the thermostat? If so pull it off the wall and see if it has battery backup, most all do.

My totaline thermostat model #p474-0100-a the backlight is staying on and when the furance is running after only a couple of minutes it shuts off and my furance shuts down .

Multiple issues that are not related. If the pilot light goes out then the thermocouple might be bad. If the pilot ignites the gas and everything shuts off, it sounds like the over temperature sensors are detecting heat in excess of what is allowed in the firebox. The thermostat issue has nothing to do with this.

I changed the batterys in my 1F78-151 thermostat and now the backlite does not work.....

• Display Backlight - (Not available on earlier models.) The display backlight improves display contrast in low lighting conditions. Selecting backlight ON will turn the light on for a short period of time after any button is pressed. Selecting backlight OFF (default) will keep the light off. Turn the display backlight feature ON as follows: 1. Press TIME and RUN buttons at the same time. The display will show "d-L" and "OFF" alternately

The backlight is not working on my newly installed Honeywell RTH2310 thermostat.

Hello. The thermostat needs a COMMON wire. The letter C on the back of the thermostat. In the unit it runs there is a COMMON connection for that reason.I hope there is a spare wire strand to use because a lot of thermostats don't need a common to work (uses battery)but honeywell does.

No digital readout on home thermostat. No backlight either.

Turn the Furnace off, Disconnect the R and W thermostat wire from the control board located usually in lower compartment of furnace, the blower
is usually mounted behind it.

Make sure the 2 wires you disconnect are going to
R(usually power) and W(usually Heat) other terminal
markings are y(for cool) g(for fan). After Disconnecting the R and W wires Turn the furnace
back on. You will probably have to hold a door switch
in to complete the circuit. If everything is correct the
furnace should not run.

This is more than likely that you have the R and W
wires touching eachother and you need to get them seperated.

Honeywell UtilityPRO thermostat backlight won't go off

After posting that I was having the same problem, I found a solution.
I used these instructions http://www.hydro-temp.com/help/drawings/honeywell%2069-1894ES.pdf and followed the Installer Setup on pages 6 through 10. Basically you just need to enter the setup mode following the instructions, scroll to setting# 280 and change the setting from "1" to "0" then the backlight will turn off after 8 seconds. Don't change any other settings if you don't know what you are doing.

Thermostat back light problem.

You need the installation manual which can be downloaded at
http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/Cultures/en-US/Products/Thermostats

go to setting 280 which sets the backlight options and select option 0 which turns on the backlight for 8 seconds when a button is pushed and then turns off.

This info is not in the owners manual, only the installation manual.
