Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Canon LBP5000 laser colour printer. Problem:

Had the same problem a while ago.
In my case it was simply that the plastic tab had come away from the plastic strip you're supposed to pull out from from the cartridge before installing. Found the end of the plastic strip and pulled it out and this sorted the error.
An additional problem we had was alignment of the colours when printed. Magenta and black were misaligned by about 0.5mm after changing a cartridge. This was cured (after much frustrated cleaning/calibration) by switching the printer power off and on (couple of minutes to cool down).
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: can not perform out of register colors correction

I have a similar printer, canon LBP 5000, with the same problem.

I contacted Canon guys and explained them the problem. This is what they said:
this problem occurs in either of the 2 situations:
1. when your colors/toners have gone or nearing empty.
2. when you have REFILLED your cartridges.

Solution:
Need to replace cartridge (which costs really tooo much).. its sad!

For me it was the first case, but, un-really-fortunately, I REFILLED the cartridges (this is al b4 contacting canon guys). And still the problem persisted (so now even the 2nd case).. After finding out that i will have to replace the cartridges.. i'm really confused whether i should do it,, or buy a new printer instead.! (since i've already spent and wasted quite a lot of amount in refilling the colors :( )

So, please DO NOT refill the cartridges if u god-forbid come across this problem ever. Go replace the cartridges. (unless n until someone else comes up with a solution atlast!)

Thanks,

SOURCE: Canon LBP-5000 Printer and Calibration

I solved this problem.
You need to bring your printer to some service, and perform cleanig of the printer's optic instruments, which are most probably coverd with dirt, and printer just can't recognize catridges, and can't give you the best print quality.
Just take it to the people who refill toners, or to some official service, they'll know what to do. I had the same problem as you, and today I can't recognize how better print quality is, and more importan, printer is not asking calibration any more.

It is shadowing yellow when I print

Most likely it's either a dirty printer, or a printer than needs a calibration performed.

Printing color cards is done with a series of passes using a ribbon that has a series of panels - yellow, magenta, cyan, black, and a clear overlay. The card is positioned; a panel is printed; the card is repositioned; another panel is printed; etc.

This color "ghosting" or "shadowing" happens when the card is not positioned properly at the start of one or more of the ribbon-panel print-cycles. This can occur when the card slips on dirty rollers, or there is a sensor or calibration issue.

Both procedures are documented in the user manual, and at the Datacard web-site. I'd perform the recommended cleaning first. If it's been a long time since cleaning, I'd do it more than once.

If that doesn't correct your issue, the next step would be to perform a calibration.

If it is still not performing properly after the above steps, you may need to have the device serviced, as a sensor could be failed or failing.

How to perform a quick calibration in a Datamax I-class printer

Before to perform a label calibration, check the label and ribbon are installed correctly. Also check the label sensor (the green piece above printhead) is in correct position and clean. To perform, press and hold FEED button and release after 5-6 seconds later. In display you can see CALIBRATION SUCCESS, if not, then do it again. Good Luck. Roberto Martinez.

Is there any way to turn off the self-cleaning on the HP 2320?

In the control panel go to System setup menu => Print quality => Calibrate color

Perform a Color Pane Registration (CPR) and density calibration. Select Calibrate now to perform an immediate calibration. Select After power on to specify the minutes/ hours the product should wait after power on to perform an automatic calibration (the default is 15 minutes).

Hp photosmart C4180 all in one. I want to set black (greyscale) as default. I can't find where to do this. Can you help?

Hi,

  1. Click start-->Control panel--> Printer & faxes.
  2. Right click on printer icon and click "Properties".
  3. You will find an option to select "print in greyscale" under one of the tabs.
  4. Else, if you dont find there, click "printing Preference" under general tab and check.

Calibration bypass
During certain diagnostic procedures, you will need to bypass the automatic calibration that is
performed whenever the printer is turned on.
To bypass calibration
1 Turn the printer on and watch the control panel display.
2 When the display begins showing the memory count, press and hold until all three lights on
the control panel are lit.
3 Press .
4 Press PAUSE/RESUME. The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD.
5 Press until SKIP CALIBRATION is highlighted.
6 Press . The printer will skip calibration and then continue its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet 1500... prints color yellow ONLY

It's possible that the toner in the cartridge is not evenly distributed. You can redistribute toner if you gently shake the cartridge from side to side, then reinstall it to see if this affects performance. Please also see this article.
You might wish to use the guided troubleshooting option available from HP support here. Or have a look at the troubleshooting section in the user manual here. Then clean the engine & calibrate the printer, as described pg. 88.
If that's no help, please see this forum post and the linked attachments within.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
