Question about Whirlpool Heating & Cooling
If it ran fine all day after you hit the unit, it sounds like its just the reset button that has the problem. What you can do, is turn off the power to the unit and pull this reset button out enough to get to the wiring. It should have the same wire going in one side and out the other as it is just a switch. Take a jumper wire and bypass the button. In other words just connect a piece of insulated wire and connect it from one terminal to the other, and this takes the button out of the system. This will be a temp. fix only, until you can get another at a appliance parts house. If its just wore out and there is nothing wrong with the unit, it will run. You say it was fine when you hit it that day? If it ran for the day, its just a faulty reset button, so just bypass it. Be sure to use black tape to tape any bare wires. Please don't forget to rate me as I know you will be kind to me. Please keep me posted on this also by my user name below. This will solve your problem until you get a new one.
