There is a heating element thermal cut- off (thermal fuse) 360 degrees. and high limit thermostat that you should check. Also there is a thermal Fuse on the exhaust duct that could cause your problem.

Kenmore Dryer -will spin but not heat and dry

The ohms reading on a heating element should never be zero. The resistance is what turns electricity into heat. You may have gotten a bad part. Check it again with NO power to the system. Unplug it or flip the breaker to be sure. You should definately get a reading on a good element. Good luck

The dryer continues to heat after it is turned

Was this the reason you installed the element and thermostat? Or did it start doing that after you installed the new ones? Maybe you have the spiral element portion touching the metal encasing aroung it. The element has Line 2 to it at all times so the ground will provide a circuit even when all else shuts off. Check for any other ground issues.

We have a Kenmore Gas dryer it runs but it doesnt get hot.. any ideas what it could be?

The heating element is most likely burned out. Try ordering a new heating element for your dryer and calling a repairman to put the new heating element in.

My kenmore dryer is blowing out cold air

Make sure that both poles of your circuit are live - An electric dryer uses 220 volts to the heating element, but taps into only one pole (110 volt) for the motor that spins the drum. Check your circuit breaker to make sure that neither pole has tripped.

Kenmore dryer doesnt heat

Nothing you did wrong! Probably needs a new heating element. Prices vary by model. Call Sears/Kenmore parts center nearest you. Tell 'em you need a heat element for your dryer. Be sure to provide your dryer's model number.

Unplug your appliance first before attempting repairs! Safety first and always!
