Question about Heating & Cooling

My model AEW24DLH1 window air conditioner did not come with a rear grill, since it is on a carport and at people level I want a grill. The GE site does not handle extras for this model as it was bought at Walmart and GE says they don't deal with these.

Find a dealer near you who may be willing to handle the job of
getting the grill you want? Not all grills are different(or alike), so
there may be a chance of him getting a similar grill which you
may be able to just screw in place.

Making your own comes to mind as a backup solution.

Best of luck

Modern window air conditioners are fully closed systems, and do not provide a means to add refrigerant. If the refrigerant level in the unit is low, that means that it has leaked out, and adding refrigerant would only be a temporary solution to the issue.
If the compressor on the unit is running but the unit is not cooling, it is advisable to simply replace the entire air conditioner with a new one, as they are not designed to be repaired.

How to remove the filter in a GE air conditioner?

1 Look for a tab on the top, right side or near the bottom of the front grille. The tab protrudes slightly from the grille.

2 Pull the tab with your fingers and remove the filter from the Hotpoint air conditioner. The tab is part of the air filter.

3 Insert a new air filter in the air conditioner until you hear the plastic part of the filter click into place.

4 Lift the bottom of the front grille up and out if the filter is not visible. Unclip the top of the front grille and pull it away from the air conditioner. Look for the tab to the air filter in the small cavity near the top front of the Hotpoint air conditioner.

5 Pull the tab and remove the filter. Insert a new filter and snap the front grille back in place.

Hi, yes it will get even hotter as the rear condenser coil has to be vented outside to cool. This is where and how the unit gives off heat. Whats the problem with your home a/c? I can help you there also.

How many amps is your breaker. Compare to name plate info. Amps should be listed. Consult an electrician. Saving money is one thing, saving a life is quite another There is no such animal as a 230/208 breaker. These numbers are voltage. You probably wired your high voltage wire into your outside unit disconnect. These wires run into your panel where they are controlled by a breaker. The numbers would be 20,30,40,50,60, etc.... The 10/2 number refers to size and number of strands but also load. Unless your disconnect is wired you won't get natta ...
