Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Why wont my fridge cool?

Hy Tony,
Compressor is a pump and operates by a motor. Cooling is initiated by the coolant. If your fridge runs low in the coolant, it won't give you a satisfactory result. Have a qualified technician check and if need be, refill the appropriate coolant.

Wont cool compressor runs

If there is a small amount of cooling, you have a failure in the defrost system. If there is no cooling whatsoever and the compressor is running, check for a failed condenser fan motor or blocked or dirty condenser coil. If those items are all okay, you have a failed compressor.

Maytag refrigerator Model mff2557heb wont cool

The compressor in your refig is bad. whats happening is when you let the compressor cool down it will run for a while then it starts binding internally until it gets to the point of humming and clicking. only repair is replacing the compressor. sorry for the bad news...

My friedrich unit compressor wont come on

This could be a bad capacitor or your compressor may have gone bad. Another possibility is an overload that is tripped and has to be reset manually. Hope this helps.

Compressor comes on for a few minutes then relays start clicking and compressor shuts off. refrigerator not cooling.

And it wont get cool as long as your compressor keeps failing to start. You will need to have this tested by a professional to at least find out if its the compressor itself, or the starting kit needed to start the compressor has failed.
Without proper test equipment, you wont be able to find out yourself if its one or the other, but a house call is a small price to pay to know for sure.

The car has been sitting for almost a year. I started it today to drive out of necessity. The A/C clutch does not engage. How do i jumper across the pressure switch to add freon? Thanks, Ken

dont!!! an you start to add freon, itll start to cycle the compresor clutch until within safe operating pressure and then it will hold clutch in constant. charge liquid(with can upside down). if wont take freon in this manner than your more than low on charge. running low on charge will quickly destroy pump, especiallt those old harrisons. the refrigerant also cools the compressor. good luck and wear gloves-

It simply wont turn on

a thought is , exactly what wont turn on? the indoor blower? the outdoor fan or the outdoor compressor?. be specific for goodness sakes. i assume you mean the ac wont turn on since its cold here in fla. dont know where you are since you didnt say. if it blows but not cold then outdoor unit is problem. if air out side being discharged is cool then compressor isnt running. check caps and volts through contactor. if ok check power directly into compressor. if ok the look at amps etc.
