My cable to my emergency brake snapped off right at the handle, i cant grab any of the cable to release the brake. how difficult is this to repair , or is their a way to release the brake.

I assume it is a foor brake and not a hand brake???
If so, put your head under the dash and look at the brake mechanism. You should see a lever where the cable from the handle went to. Being extremely careful, you can move that lever by hand. Just watch out for the pedal and the brake mechanism that will snap back when its released.

if you know someone with a lift, get it up in the air and take a good look. it should be immediately obvious which end or which cable has failed. i think you will find there are two cables in the rear which meet one coming from the front at a central threaded rod adjuster. common for them to become rusted and break at pivot points, swivels, backing plates. it is not unknown for an independent muffler shop to put your vehicle up on a lift and let you take a quick look for 10 bucks or so.

Parking brake cable snapped but brake is on. any

Under the dash, where the break release handle is, you'll see a lever where the release cable is/was attached to. Either push forward, or pull back this lever and it will release the parking break. BE CAREFUL the foot peddle for the parking break doesn't hit you in the face!

Hi - emerg brake cable snapped and rear wheels are locked up -

If main cable is snapped, you may get them to move for you by spraying cables where they go into backing plate, and give them a sharp/quick rap with a screwdriver handle or similar. I've got a way with that a few times. rap, rap, rap, rap repeat, and sometimes it will save restling with adjusters. I am curious though, if they weren't partially seized prior, they should have released when cable snapped.Get back to us if that doesn't work.
