Question about Samsung Washing Machines
`Actually, you are tackeling a tricky repair. Very unusual for a top loader to loose its breake. Before you strip the unit, check the break arm. A small cable is attached to it and when engaged to break, the arm should be free.(ie, cable loose to the touch). If not, check why not.
To change the gearbox, you will need to remove the pulsator first, then get a vicegrip type spanner to attach to the large nut in the centre. Carefully hit the spanner in an anticlock wise direction.to loosen the nut. Once off, your problems begin. The tub is stuck tightly onto the motor assembly. You have to forcefully pull and push sideways untill it comes free. Once free, take it out then lay machine down and unbolt the motor from underneath, (Unplug the single wiring harness.). Re install in the reverse manner. On occasion ive had to break the inner drum to enable me to remove the main motor assembly.
