Well now being that it was off for about two weeks I turned it on and there's just a blank screen after the power on chime the screen comes on with nothing on it..I don't have the start up disk either, is there a way to relied it without the disc? What ever I have on it doesn't matter if it's erased.

You mean when you click on the folder nothing happens? It is a folder right on your desktop? It just has a ? on the folder? Where do the two faces come in to play, those are also on the folder? Little cartoon looking faces? I need some more info here and I can help.
Thanks
Tim

Oh wow, that's no good, so there are no buttons or anything else you can click on? I am researching this now... it must have some options or information there? Or it's just stuck in a loop and you have to turn off the laptop? If that's the case it sounds like it may need to be reloaded. DO you have data on the machine you wish to save? Such as documents, photos, that type of thing?

    Thanks

That confirms that you have serious hardware failure in the machine, you will be much better off just replacing it. You can get a new computer for around $300, it will be at least $300 to fix it..

I cant get my ibook g4 to run it turns on with blinking folder

Blinking ? mark folder means that your OS can't be found. Take out your RAM underneath the keyboard and re-insert and try again. Nothing? Install a different new RAM chip and try again. Nothing? Install your disc 1 install disc, power down, wait a few seconds, now press the power button to turn on, now press and hold the option button, until your disc 1 shows up, select it, and bring your pointer to the right arrow on the screen and press enter. Now your booting from the disc 1. Go to disc utility folder at the top of the screen and select your hard drive and then select repair disc permissions. Then shut down and reboot when finished. Nothing? Your hard drive is fu.k.d-Try re-installing the OS. Nothing? Your hard drive is really fu.k.d-You need a new hard drive. Installing a new hard drive in the iBook is a *****. You may want to pay someone to install a hard drive or you can just get a new laptop.

How to sync an IBook G4 wth a Mac 1 Ghz Power PC G4

Transferring you iPhoto Library requires the same version of iPhoto on each. Then you can just move the "package" from one to the other. It appears as a package in the latest versions but inside is a directory hierarchy. Older versions used the file system for this. The package keeps you from messing with the files and internal links. Depending on your collection you may need a real disk and not just a flash drive.
To transfer the photos themselves only requires exporting from one machine and importing on the other. However, you then lose any comments, folders, and anything but the photos. You may want to be sure to send the copy with red-eye correction... or you will have to do it again. Do it a folder at a time. -Ken

I turn on my mac and only this small folder icon appears in the middle of the screen

The face is probably frowning.  The computer cannot find the operating system.  Use a utility disk to boot up the computer and then use First Aid or Disk Utility to check the disk.  You may have to re-install the operating system.  This can be done without losing your files if done correctly.  Seek help from an Apple repair facility if you are in doubt about how to do it.

My G4 powermac wont start up it got small icon of a file folder with a "?" and the "smiley apple face" flashing back and forth in the file folder icon. Even when i press my power button it keep doing all...

When your mac comes up with a folder with a "?", it means that you have either a corrupt operating system, or a missing operating system. This means that your MAC OS is broken, and needs to be re-installed. You will lose all the data on your machine, so if you have any information that is important to you, you should try to get that data off of your hard drive. If you dont know how, take it to any Apple certified technician (or anyone who is good with computers) and tell them that you need the information off of that hard drive.

My iBook G4 is tuning diffrent colors when its on. itll switch back and forth from red blue green

The LCD Connector is loose, Bring it to the Apple Genius Bar and have them look at it. Another way is to take the iBook apart and check for loose cables.

Computer won't work & shows a file icon w/a"? and a smiley face"

the "?" and the "smiley apple face means it couldnt find the osx to boot from. this can be cause by a bad or deleted file or a failing / bad harddrive. it sounds like a bad harddrive since it doesnt find the destination.

Apple g4 ibook 12' wont show o.s.

You probably need to reinstall the OS. That would be the best thing to do,so you would not have to mess with the data that is on the unit.
