Question about LG 42PX5D 42 in. Plasma HDTV

2 Answers

Snow I bought a 42 " plasma hd tv about 3 months ago. It worked terrific until a month ago. The picture is perfect if there is color but when the color turns black there is white snow speckles over 3/4 of the screen. I can still see the picture on the screen but it is annoying and should not be happening. I though it might be the cable we were using but it has the same effect when we are watching DVD's. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a fault in the main processor that is causing noise. The set will have to be serviced. The tech will probably try the main video processing board to start.

These speckels are what digital noise can show up like. Digital noise can show as speckels, or aliasing, depending on the type of noise generation that is happening. It will not necessarily show up as like noise on an alalog TV set, unless it is purly RF noise from the front end. Sometimes noise can occure by having clocking pulses that are slightly out of time or phase. This type of noise can also look like seckels or other types depending on the type, and where in the circuit it is being generated.

In any case, the boards would have to be tried to determine which one is the cause of the fault.

42'' LG Plasma bought in Australia doesn't work in UK?

Find out if Australia uses a different standard of HD programming than Guernsey or not since it's not picking up any channels at all with an attenna. Does the skybox use only scart connections and that's how your small lcd is connected to it?

Vizio GV42L LCD TV screen black when turn TV on first time

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on.  If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.
