It must be refffered to a service tech and not messed up as it should be seen how this was removed. So dont take chances to tamper.

Dvd drive door stuck

In case you're not able to eject the disc using the eject button, you can try right clicking on the CD/DVD drive under 'My Computer' and clicking on eject. If that fails as well, you can try to eject the disc manually by pushing a straightened paper clip or a pin into the tiny hole on front of the CD/DVD drive. You should be able to eject it using the last method.

Cd disc changer

As with ALL disk drives, you need to dissemble the changer to remove the disk by hand. Usually not as bad as it sounds, have done it many times.

Cd is stuck in my gateway computer

If you open Computer in the Start Menu, right click on the DVD/CD Rom, select Eject , it still will not open? Look for a "pin-hole" on the DVD/CD drawer, near the button, insert a pager clip. If the CD has exploded, which happened to me, you will have to remove the DVD/CD Rom and dissemble it.

The cd on my laptop won't open (can do this with a pin) if I put a cd in it won't read it and says the drive is empty.

It is possible that the data or power connection has come lose . On some laptops it is possible to unscrew it and slide it out to check others need the whole laptop dissembled .If you can check the connections and they are lose plug them in tightly and try it again .If it is OK then the drive may have failed. If you cant access the drive or are not confidant then you may have to take it to a service center.

I hope this helped

Toshiba cd-rw/dvd-rom drive...power on but disc door will not actvate and open

There are quite a few reasons the DVD tray in your laptop might fail to open when you hit the eject button. About the worst thing it can be is if the motor or gear train failed, which would mean replacing the drive. If the disc in the drive plays OK, you know that the power and the connector are fine. If not, you should try reseating the drive in the bay. It's also possible for the drive to be locked in software by the operating system, or for a power management scheme to have cut power to the drive. Check these by right clicking the drive icon and checking properties, or looking at you power management settings. But, when all else fails and you can't get the disc out of the drive, there's always, THE MIGHTY PAPERCLIP.

Follow the bellow link,

Hope this helps,

Inserted dvd disc but the computor still asking to insert the disk?

The disk is not being read and so the somputer is not detecting the disc. You willhave to change the whole disc drive to clear this fault as the optical unit alone may not be available. Also you can reinstall the drivers once again to make sure that it is not a sofware issue. Open control panel , then open system manager-device manager and reinstall the DVD-Cd drivers. If this wont solve the issue then you will need to change the unit as a whole. Confirm the cost before you attempt to change or you can alsouse an external one through the USB. Hope you try. good day

My dvd is stuck in the CD Rom Drive thing

if the computer is powered off and the power chord deconnected, you can use a fine pin to 'poke' in the small hole in the front panel of the CD/DVD drive. this is the backup mechanism for when the regular opening mechanism fails. this way you can retrieve the disk that's blocked inside. after this you can try if it works as before again, but the possibility exists that you will have to replace the whole drive...

CD-ROM Not responding

you can get the disc out by inserting a pin in the small hole on the cd draw, but when this happens it means the laser is failing to read the disc and the cdrom is failing, unfortunately the cdrom cannot be changed in the acer notebooks.
