Inserting an SD Memory Card(Optional)
All images and video clips taken by the camera can be stored in an SD (Secure
Digital) Memory Card. Even if the camera's power is OFF, the images saved in the
SD Memory Card are not erased. An SD Memory Card can be repeatedly read and
written. You may also expand the memory capacity up to 512MB so that you can
store additional images and video clips.
1. Make sure the camera is off.
2. Slide the battery/SD Memory Card cover in the direction of the [OPEN] arrow.
3. Insert an SD Memory Card :
The front side of the memory card (printed
arrow) should face towards the front side
of the camera.
If the card cannot be inserted, check the
orientation.
4. Close the battery/SD Memory Card cover.
To remove the SD Memory Card, make sure
the camera is off. Open the battery/SD Memory Card card cover. Press
lightly on the edge of the memory card and it will eject.
Note:
If the camera is powered-on without the card, the "NO CARD" message appears on
the LCD monitor.
To prevent valuable data from being accidentally
erased from an SD Memory Card you can slide the
write-protected tab (on the side of the SD Memory
Card) to "LOCK".
To save, edit or erase data on an SD Memory Card,
you must unlock the card.
MultiMedia Card (MMC) can not be used.
You need to format an SD Memory Card before using it in this camera

I need another card that goes inside the phone, behind the battery. It's the memory card.I know what the proper name for but it just slips my mind, am sorry. I do have an excuse for this memory lo

Without knowing the make and model of the phone I can't be absolutely certain, but most phones that take a memory card take a microSD card. Some of them will also accept a microSDHC card, which is the same size physically but contains more memory.

AFTER INSERTED A NEW BATTERIES IN THE SCREEN SHOWS CARD LOCKED, HOW I CAN FIX THAT

Try taking out your batteries and then taking out your memory card. In memory card you can see a small button at the side you need to slide that to unlock your memory card. Put back in batteries and memory card. Turn on camera.

If this works, just put back in your memory card and try again. Sometimes the memory card hangs and you need to pop it in and out.

Won't turn turn on. A red and green light comes on, but nothing on the screen.

Step one: Reset the camera
  1. If you have an optional memory card installed, remove it.
NOTE: Although removing an optional memory card is not necessary for performing the reset, it eliminates the memory card as a possible cause of the problem.
  2. Remove all batteries from the camera for at least five seconds.
  3. Reinsert the batteries and close the Battery/Memory card door.
  4. After verifying that the camera works without an optional memory card, reinsert the card if you removed one in Step 2.
Try to turn the camera on. If it now works properly, the camera experienced a temporary electrical problem and should now work properly.

N73 memory card locked

You need a memory card reader to do this.
Turn on your Nokia cell phone.
Remove the memory card from your phone by sliding off the back panel and prying the memory card out of its slot. Place the memory card into your memory card reader.
Create this directory on your memory card reader: E:\System\Recogs. (Note: Here "E:" drive is your Removable drive of the Card, may be F,G,H...) Type the code: thc-nokia-unlock.mdl into your new directory on the memory card reader.
Take the memory card out of the memory card reader and replace it in your cell phone. Wait around two to three minutes for the directory program to load from the memory card into your phone.
Take the battery out of your phone next, which is found under the back panel and near the memory card. Next, remove the memory card again and replace the battery.
Turn your phone on again. Your new unlock code for your phone will be "12345."

Camera doesn't get past welcome window with memory card installed

Have you tried another brand of memory card ?
Try a memory card from a friend that has been used for a while. If it locks up with other cards then you have problem with camera. Check if needs to be set to read from memory cards above certain sizes ?

Camera says Card Locked and I can't Reformat the Memory Card

From the problem described by you, it seem your camera has gone into a internal memory error and hung. Try to take out the battery, the memory card etc , clean and then reinsert and then power on? Try this it might work.... Generally the camera should start working normally once you will take out the battery, since it will reset.
If it still does not work, then think you might need to take it to Canon. They are very helpful and could sort out if you have system software problem. But Before that, I suggest that you must take out its memory stick, the battery etc and keep the camera like that for about 15 minutes. Then only reinsert the battery (fully Charged) and then try to reformat the memory card. If you are lucky, you might not need to go to Canon. Best of Luck.
