My daughter accidentally attached the wrong 12 volt adapter to the iRiver H320 MP3 player when using it in the car and now it will not turn on. The unit was purchased at a BestBuy store in Canada, but the store does not offer any repair services.
Essentially, we are on our own when it comes to trying to get the unit working again. problem is, we have some 900 tunes stored on the unit at approx. $1.00 ea. and we'd hate to lose our music investment.
Can anyone suggest a reliable repair facility for this unit?

I had a similar problem. It seemed to just die with a light blue backlight, not the usual one. It would not turn off or on. I thought it was gone for good. However, I re-installed the driver (in control panel, system, hardware, device manager) I had to do this a number of times, with the h320 attached by usb and not attached. After a number of attempts, I got a message 'disconnect iriver h320' I then let the 320 completely lose its battery power (over a day or so) then attached the charger and got the charging message. It works fine now. Hope this helps
I too have that problem, or it insists I remove external battery, I went onto the official site and they were no help. I've not really tried this link, but somebody told me to try it maybe it's a battery fault http://www.hyperbattery.com/indexmain.htm
Hope this helps, if so let me know The_Ultimate_Power@hotmail.com
no as long the player is not damage you can still match the voltage because the 12v is not going to turn on or work properly on the h320 because the voltage is not right. Unless if you have a closer voltage like 4.5v or 5.2 v it will be good it will work.
Example:When i bought my pda it did not come with adapter so they gave me an alternative adapter is supposed to 5v but they gave me 6v to try out first it work then second try i turn my pda using the ac it have problem with voltage because is too high than 5v. The next thing i did is buy another adapter good thing i found closer to 5v which is 5.2v which is it work.....now by pda work..properly and i can charge it properly too.. well it takes sometime to look around the shop until it can be found the right adapter....
Well i used the USB to AC adapter 5.2v...it work great... for mp3 player like h320,pda........
