Assuming that the error message points to the file GDI32.dll...
In order to fix it, you should go to the computer's BIOS (usually done by clicking F2 or F10 just after starting up the laptop) and set it to boot from the optical-drive/CD drive first.
Use a Windows XP installation CD, let it load, then press R to get to the Recovery Console.
In Recovery Console, after "logging-in" to your system, type:
Copy C:\WINDOWS\servicepackfiles\i386\gdi32.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\gdi32.dll
and hit Enter.
Take the CD out, then type in Exit, and hit Enter.
Problem should be gone now...
