Question about Televison & Video
Are you sure it does not come on, or no video (black screen)? Plugging in the cable should not affect the TV turning on. The only possible way I can think of that hooking up a cable would shut down the power is if you have a ground fault. The shield of the cable should be earth ground. If your TV had a power leakage, grounding the chasis by attaching the cable might blow a fuse. This seems highly unlikely, however.
