Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

My Canon MP620 is having continuous paper jams. I ask it to print, it makes all the right sounds of beginning to print but then stops. It tells me it is out of paper, but when I check whats actually happened, a piece of paper has gotten stuck. It seems to have fed probably a 10th of the way in and is crinkledup, showing some small smudged signs of printing. However after I remove the paper and retry, same happens again. Any suggestions would be great!

Samand,
It seems that the rollers that pull the paper in are dirty. Please unplug the printer and clean rollers that pull the paper in. Clean with a moist soft cloth. Allow it to dry up completely and then plug it in and power on the printer.

I have an envelope stuck inside my canon mp620 printer somewhere. How do i get it out?

There are three areas for paper jam clearing.
1. Under the scanner cover
2. At the rear of the printer is a small door with rollers at the top. it comes away from the printer from the left. There are some small pins to hold it in on the right. Swing it out to remove the door.
3. The cassette tray. Remove the tray to expose jammed paper or envelopes.

Here is the diagram for the rear door.

Do not touch any components inside the printer.

press and hold the power button until it stops flashing - the printer is simply trying to tell you that there was an issue (out of ink, out of paper, or paper jam) and is trying to resume normal activity.

Starts to feed paper and then stops and says it is jammed, it's not.

We have become aware of an incompatibility between the ZoomAlbum software and the Canon PIXMA printers listed below. This issue applies only when using the ZoomAlbum software to print Photo Album covers with Mac OS X.
Affected Models
PIXMA MP240, MP250, MP480, MP490, MP560, MP620, MP640, MP980, MP990, MX320, MX330, MX860, iP3600, iP4600, iP4700 Printers
Phenomenon
The affected PIXMA printers are designed to feed paper via the rear tray with a center-feed mechanism and two paper guides. However, the ZoomAlbum software was intended to feed paper from the rear tray in printers with a right-feed mechanism and a single paper guide. As a result, when using the ZoomAlbum software with Mac OS X to print Photo Album covers with the affected Canon PIXMA printers, the printed image may shift.

To remedy this problem, please use the following settings when printing Photo Album covers with Mac OS X:
1. Click System Preferences
2. Click Print & Fax
3. Select your Canon PIXMA printer as the default printer
4. Select DL Envelope for Default Paper Size in Page Setup
Note: Be sure to change the Default Paper Size back to Letter after printing the cover.

I had a paper jam in my MP620 printer. I have removed the paper, but I keep getting an error message, and now it says to contact a service center

  1. Look for any switch or guide that may be bent or out of place. This could have been damaged when a jam was removed.
  2. Look for any small piece of paper or staple that may have lodged in the paper path somewhere.
  3. There may be some form of error clear code that would need to be entered. It would be something like "holding down the print key and powering on the printer at the same time" The manual may tell you. There are different combos for different manufacturers.

My canon MP620 Paper Jam Pull out the Jam Paper Al

There are pieces of paper stock on the sensor, when the paper jam happened then you pull out the paper did you get the whole page of the paper or have missing pieces? open the paper guide, turn off and on the printer and observe the unusual objects in the roller, this error is caused by objects in the sensor.

Had the same problem. Turn off the printer (completely) and turn it on again. That fixed the problem for me (without even touching the paper tray!)
