Question about RCA TruFlat 27F520T 27" TV

Open Question

Hi My name is Mei and my true-flat RCA television is acting really funny. I'm not sure what is really wrong with it except the first half of my tv is flipped upside down within the screen. So it looks like only half the tv works because that is the case only half the tv work and the other half doesn't. What do u suggest i do to try to fix it?

Get an ESR meter and check all the electrolytic capacitors in the set! I am sure you will find many decoupler and coupling capacitors that are on the edge or too high in ESR.

Check all your input cables. If RF coax, make sure they are just beyond hand tight. If RCA, twist each a few times to burnish (clean) connections. This is especially true if you are doing Component viodeo (Red, Green & Blue).

Tv wont come on

Good Day,

If you use your TV a lot then you need to replace the lamp, but if you only use your TV about 8 hour a day, then you also may need to replace the ballast.

The lamp is really easy to change. You should get at least 5,000 hours on your lamp.

Call RCA customer service and ask for a concession to replace the lamp and ballast. This is a common problem for RCA!

Good luck, God Bless.

RCA PHD50300 no picture on top half of screen

Replace the scan drive board also called X-sustain board. This is the board on the upper left side in the back of the set with a huge heat sink on it. you can find them online for about 175.00. The p/n is pkg50c2g1. Be carefull with the 4 ribbon connectors that go to the display.

do the lights blink at all or do they just come on? you might need to replace the ballast - this is what provides the high voltage to the bulb (lamp)
