The solution to the problem is one in which the hose that drains the water must be plog, this one is below the dishwasher connected to the drainage of the sink or perhaps there must be the bent hose that it does not allow the water to go to the drain.

Hi, my D3120 Asko dishwasher starts but stops after about a minute. If I press the start button again, it starts but stops again. What's wrong?

When it shuts off, is there still water standing in it? First, you need to know if it stops because the pump (that pumps OUT the water) is working. When it stops, do you hear the water draining? ...(through your sink drain). Many times the tube that pumps out the water is clogged from food matter stuck in the drain tube. If you had a disposal put in recently, there is a plug that has to come OUT of the disposal to hook up the dishwasher drain.

Doesn't drain

If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain pump might be defective. Test the pump motor with an Ohm meter. Drain pumps are not repairable, if it's defective it will need to be replaced.
HERE ARE SOME OTHER COMMON CAUSES:
H Drain impeller. The drain impeller is attached to the pump and pushes the water out of the dishwasher through the drain tube and into the garbage disposer or drain line. If the dishwasher won't drain, the drain impeller might be broken or worn out. Replace both the impeller and seal at the same time.
Drain Solenoid Kit. The drain solenoid kit might need to be replaced. The drain solenoid is an actuator that opens a flap to allow the water to drain.
Drain Valve. The drain valve can get clogged with debris and should be cleaned out if the dishwasher won't drain. If it seems clear of debris but won't actuate, it will need to be replaced.
Clogged or Improperly Installed Garbage Disposer. If the dishwasher won't drain and the garbage disposer was installed recently, the installer might have forgotten to knock out the drain plug from this disposer. All garbage disposers are sold with a solid plug in the drain tube for situations where a dishwasher isn't connected. However, if the dishwasher is connected, the plug needs to be removed. If the disposer wasn't replaced recently, remove the dishwasher drain hose from the disposer and clean out both the fitting on the disposer and the end of the drain hose. These are the most common places to find an obstruction if the dishwasher won't drain.
Check Valve. The check valve might be stuck closed. The check valve is a small plastic device which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the valve gets stuck closed, it will prevent the water from draining. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.
Check Ball. The check ball might be stuck. The check ball is a small plastic ball in the check valve which prevents water from returning to the dishwasher after it has drained. If the ball gets stuck, it will prevent the water from draining also. The check valve is the device that the drain hose is attached to on the dishwasher.

Belt, Water Pump Although few dishwashers have a water pump belt, if the dishwasher won't drain there might be a worn or broken water pump belt. After removing the lower kick panel the motor can be seen in the front, the water pump belt is on the bottom of the motor.

Smells when door is opened

Hi, this is most likely due to food waste stuck in the drain or the drain tube connected to the disposal. Remove bottom rack of dishwasher, then clear any debris from the drain located normally in the center. Be careful, many times I find broken glass in the drain. Next you want to check the drain line. Under the sink there is a flexible drain tube attached the the disposal or main drain stack for the kitchen sink. That is the drain for the dishwasher. Food and other things get stuck along the way and do not make it to the main drain and start stinking. Clean or replace the dishwasher drain tube.

Dishwasher not draining

Hi,

Thanks for writing to Fixya.com.

To fix a dishwasher that will not drain, remove any clogs that are blocking the drain line by pouring a paste of baking soda, vinegar and water down the drain, and then pouring boiling water to clear the clog. Repeat the process several times to remove a severely clogged dishwasher drain. Thanks for contacting Fixya and please accept the solution if it has helped you.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your DW.

Actually, yes. Not using a dishwasher for a while can damage some parts. Sediment from water damages the water valve. Food residues clogs the drain and drain pump. More likely the drain pump needs to be replaced.

Per your notes, looks like you are a handy main, so you may want to remove the pump to determine if it is clogged. (Quite dirty job). The drain pump is easy to locate, just follow the drain hose.

Also, check the connection with the food disposer under the sink.

Kenmore dishwasher has stopped draining.

remove the kick panel below the door, place a pan, etc under where the drain hose connects to the drain extension tube, and slide the clamp back some so you can slide the hose off of the extension tube (white plastic tube) and drain any excess fluid into the aforementioned pan, etc., then unscrew the extension tube and check for plugs, or restrictions.
the sump may also be pluged beneath the strainer assembly, and that requires removing the lower spray arm, the water tube that runs up the inside back of the unit, and the upper parts of the assembly below them to access the drain/pump sump area.
last but not least the impeller is jamed and might be able to be freed by removing whatever has lodged within there..
ya never know...
best of luck,
ttfn
