This is unfortunately something called the Yellow Light of Death (YLOD). It is generally caused by overheating or a hardware failure of some kind. It could be the graphics processing unit, the central processing unit, the memory or anything else. The most common cause of it is when the solder under the GPU or CPU gets so hot that hairline cracks appear in it and there is not a good electrical contact. There are some guides out there that explain the process of "reflowing" the GPU and CPU, this involves using a heat gun to re-melt the solder between the chip and the circuit board but it is a hit and miss process. Even it you could fix it, it is not guaranteed to last. Sometimes you may get a couple of days out of it, sometimes months. If you really want to have a go at repairing it yourself look up yellow light of death fix. I plan to do a tip guide on here soon of how to do it so I can refer to that. Failing that if you really don't fancy having a go at it, if the console is under warranty get hold of Sony and they will replace it for you. If it is out of warranty and you don't want to fix it yourself you can always stick it on ebay to help towards the cost of another PS3, they usually go for around £50 in a faulty condition

This is a common occuring problem what has happend is you have the ylod better known as the yellow light of death. This means the solder on the motherboard has come loose and won't supply the needed power to keep the system running so you need to either send it in for repair which is $110. It's gone for two weeks then back just as good as new

I'm afraid you have gotten the Yellow Light of Death ( YLOD ) you will need to have your PS3 repaired by a technician or you can Google YLOD and you will find a repair guide.

My playstation has the light trun green yellow flashing red light

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme settings. try this? seems to fix alot of issues.

Flase red light when turn on

Looks like the fall damaged the unit. Try turning it in for warranty. Off course don't mention the falling. Just tell them the yellow light appeared out of nowhere.

It's still risky though, if Sony suspects something happened to it before this problem they will probably not trade the unit or let you pay for a new one.
