Hi. Here's the procedure on how to connect your Wii to your wireless router.

  • 1 Click the "Wii" button in the lower left corner of the main Wii console screen.
  • 2 Go to "Wii Settings" and "Internet."
  • 3 Click "Connection Settings" and select a connection that's marked "None."
  • 4 Select "Wireless Connection" and "Search for Access Point."
  • 5 Choose which access point to connect to and click "OK."
    Manual Setup
  • 1 Click the "Wii" button in the lower left corner of the main Wii console screen.
  • 2 Go to "Wii Settings" and "Internet." Click "Connection Settings" and choose an open connection that's marked "None."
  • 3 Choose "Wireless Connection" and "Manual Setup."
  • 4 Enter the SSID for your router. Click the blue arrow to the right of the box to go to the next screen.
  • 5 Enter security information. If you don't use WEP or WPA security, skip to the next screen.
  • 6 Choose whether or not to auto-obtain the IP and DNS information. If you don't choose to auto-obtain, go to "Advanced Settings" and enter your IP information.
  • 7 Set the MTU value. Most users leave this blank, but it can be set at 1500 if you have trouble connecting.
  • 8 Choose "Save" and "OK." Select "OK" again to test the connection

  • 1Before you connect Nintendo Wii to wireless Internet, set up your Wii console according to the manufacturer's directions.
  • 2Turn on the Nintendo Wii and wait for the main menu to appear.
  • 3Using the Wii remote, point and click on the small Wii button in the bottom left corner.
  • 4Select Wii settings.
  • 5In the bottom right corner click the black square with the number 2 in it or use the right directional arrow to go to the next page. When you come to "Internet" click it.
  • 6To connect Wii to the Internet select "Connection Settings."
  • 7On the next screen select the first connection that says "none."
  • 8On the following page, when given the option for wired connection or wireless Internet, select "wireless."
  • 9Now it's time for your Wii to search for a wireless connection. To do this choose "search for an access point."
  • 10Press "okay" and find the name of your wireless Internet. If it's not on the first page, arrow down until you find it. If you need a password to access the Internet, you will be asked to enter it. Click okay.
  • 11Click save and okay so the Wii remembers the wireless Internet connection options for the future.
  • 12Finalize the Wii Internet connection process by testing the wireless connection.
  • 13When Wii's wireless Internet test finishes successfully, you're ready to play Wii online.

Can You Use Nintendo DS With Wii?

The portable Nintendo systems, Nintendo DS, DS Lite, and DSi, are connectible with the Nintendo Wii system, much like the compatibility between Nintendo's Gameboy Advance and Gamecube video game systems.

    1. Purpose
      • Connecting the Nintendo DS, DS Lite, or DSi to the Nintendo Wii allows owners of these systems to use them to their maximum potential, as they take advantage of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows you to use the systems simultaneously with certain Nintendo DS games.
      Connecting
      • To connect the Nintendo DS, DS Lite or DSi to the Nintendo Wii, the Wii needs to be connected to the Internet wirelessly either through a router or by the Wii LAN adapter. These Nintendo systems share a Wi-Fi connection, and this allows the portable Nintendo systems to connect instantly to the Wii via the wireless signal shared by the Wii and the Internet.
      Function
      • Once you have your portable Nintendo system and Nintendo Wii connected, the DS will act as a controller and allow you to play the DS game through the Wii system while maintaining the touchscreen and microphone capabilities of the portable system. Another function of the connection is that the Wii is able to expand the portable Nintendo system's games.
      Games
      • There are only a handful of portable Nintendo games that allow you to connect to the Wii, including the Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl games, which allow players to use Pokemon accumulated via these DS titles to battle with in the Wii's Pokemon Battle Revolution game.
      Future
      • Nintendo has commented that there are plans of being able to download and play game demos to the portable Nintendo systems through the Wii's Nintendo Channel.
or just visit the link below for more info on your wii
