Hi,
if you have already determined that the motherboard and power supply is dead . Then the only solution would be to replace the same. There is power supply tester available in any local computer store. You can get one to check the power supply. Because if the system is not turning on at all, and the same is not caused by a power surge etc. the motherboard still has chance that it is good.

Thanks for using fixya

Can't start HD, I can hear only biping sound

a biping sound is usually indicative of either a dead drive, or not enough power on the USB bus (for unpowered external drives).
If the drive will take an external power supply, but is not connected to one, try connecting a power supply to it.
If the drive is out of warranty, try removing it from the external enclosure and hook it up internally to the PC. Sometimes the enclosure interface fails. If the drive makes the same noise inside the PC, it's likely dead.

My 500gb ext. seagates freeagent go is not detected in any pc, showing device driver software not fond, white light is blinking repeatedly...... please any solution

The drive is no longer recognized because the controller processor from the board inside it has failed. This is unfixable, the unit is dead. But you could salvage the actual hard disk inside it, it might still be operational and the data on it intact - just take it out and connect it directly inside a desktop.

Solid green light until power button turned on the light goes out disconected power supply from mother board and everything else and plugged it in nothin happens is it dead Jim

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

Wont power up

Hi jgeorge76,

I'm sorry to tell you this, but the yellow light means that there is an internal power problem. Usually this problem is a worn-out power supply (the unit at the back of the computer near the top that the power cord plugs into), and it would explain why the computer won't turn on.

If your computer is still under warranty, I suggest you seek help from Dell. If not, don't worry -- a power supply is relatively inexpensive (around $30-40) and not too difficult to replace. You can easily purchase one online and install it yourself. Rest assured that your hard drive and all its contents are safe and intact; you just need to replace the power source.

I hope this helps - please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Power Supply

Check all power cables plugged into M/board if these are correct
remove all hard ware
hard drives / cd player and anything else
except for video and memory and test to see if it boots. If it does, one of the removed hardware is faulty if it does not then you have M/board failure

Worked fine for a year, now not recognized or functioning

I had the same issue- light was blinking from red to blue, could not get my computers (I have a Mac and a PC) to recognize the drive, sounded like the drive wasn't powering up...

I replaced the Acom drive enclosure with a new one (CP Technologies). I don't know if the drive enclosure or power supply was at fault-- but it wasn't the internal drive. Plugged it in and amazingly all my data was back. For thirty bucks it was far less than sending out the drive to a 'data recovery' expert!
