Make sure you're adjusting your tension to the "E" setting. Also be sure you have dropped the feed dog (refer to the user's manual for the setup for embroidery).

Why does thread gather in bobbin area and jam machine

Completely unthread the top and bobbin threads. Clean any lint build up out of the bobbin race assembly using the little brush and some canned air. Check that the needle is inserted correctly...with the flat side towards the back. Then carefully rethread the top and the bobbin threads. Make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly...if it's backwards the machine won't sew properly.

Messages about safe device activated & press the needle position button

The noise is because the machine is trying to raise or lower a needle and can't move. Several things to check. Did the needle break and jam in the bottom thread? Is the needle bent or jam? Did the thread jam in the bobbin area? I had a 'knot' of thread build up on the bottom and it hooked itself into the metal clip on the bobbin so that the needle couldn't raise. If thread jams in the bottom carefully cut the threads until you can free the hoop and material. Then check to make sure all pieces of thread and fuzz has been removed in the bobbin case. If it happens again check to see if the bobbin case or the throat plate is scratched or bent. If you are stitching Free Standing Lace on this machine or a piece with over 20,000 stitches I recommend starting with a new full bobbin and a new needle. As you get toward the bottom of the bobbin, thread seems to have a high likelihood of tangling or looping.

I have a janome 11000. it jammed while embroidering a project. The underneath was rats nest and my needle bent and gouged up my bobbin case...Replaced the case and now the machine makes a clicking noise...

sometimes when a needle gets bent, it can cause the sewing machine to need a adjustment by a technican.
sometimes a jam can be caused by the thread coming off the thread take up lever
or the bobbin is turned the wrong way in the bobbin case
or the bobbin was not thread correctly

Machine jammed and pulled bobbin up out of it's case

since the machine jamed, I would suggest changing the needle incase it got bent or damaged
the reason for the birds nest under the fabric, the thread came off the thread take up lever, if it does it again you can try a piece of tape over it so the thread won't come off of the thread take up lever again
I use to have trouble with mine doing that.

Hello. I own a Singer 4423 Heavy Duty sewing machine. It has been working fine overall, but today it is giving me problems with jamming. At first it jammed underneath the plate and created a huge ball of...

Make sure thread is not laying across the bobbin when you look down into the plastic slider that covers the top loading bobbin case. The bobbin on mine I observed was loose in the case so that as the machine ran, eventually the bobbin thread would jump out of the stitch finger (the silver piece to the far left of the bobbin case, past the tension slots). I solved this problem and so can you! Take the extra felt spool pin felt in your accessories kit that came with the machine, remove bobbin from case and drop this small felt circle into the bobbin case. Replace bobbin. On the 4423, the bobbin thread goes counter-clockwise and drops into the tension discs, and goes all the back until it falls into the space left of the silver stitch finger. Make sure take up level raised all the way up! Then pull the needle thread toward you until bobbin thread comes all the way up. If you start sewing and you actually can SEE the bobbin thread laying across the bobbin, STOP and tethered because that would mean your thread did not slide all the back behind the silver stitch finger--however, I assure you, if you go one step at a time, you did it correctly! You will be smiling in no time! Why? The felt helps to make the bobbin rest in the correct position to keep it from jumping out of the groove. I hope this helps you.

I have the futura ce-100. When embroidering it

This annoys the heck out of me, cause it happens a lot more than it should. There can be some valid reasons as to why it happens, though.

Your top thread could be broken or about to break; your bobbin thread could be broken, about to break or empty/about to become empty and is loose around the bobbin; you could have a birds' nest (a mass of thread just under the fabric/presser foot and/or within the feed dog and bobbin) forming and causing a jam; or it could be your Futura having a little bit of a hissy fit. Obviously, if you've checked for broken thread you need to move on. Check for a birds' nest by removing the fabric and clip your threads. If you find one, clear it, rethread your bobbin and begin sewing again. If there's no birds' nest, then place the fabric back in and try sewing/embroidering again. If the machine acts up again, I recommend removing the fabric/hoop, rethreading your top and bobbin threads, replacing fabric/hoop and resuming where you left off. If the machine still gives you trouble, try hitting the start button for a couple of times and seeing if the problem doesn't simply resolve itself. When you're embroidering areas that have a few small, short stitches only, the machine seems to act up a little and then behaves fine once you bypass the area. Be sure to take all of the other steps first, though, because a birds' nest will RUIN a beautiful seam or embroidery.

Thread adjustment

Sounds like the bobbin tension is loose. Look at this website on their "repair" page where it explains how to adjust the bottom(bobbin) tension.

What kind of thread are you using? When I had this same problem I noticed If I did not have Bobbin thread in the bottom or embroidery thread of the same weight in the bottom it would do this.
