This is a swing down door. Do you mean the spring is in the door? I can pull the door off, but that exposes just a metal arm inside which swings on the hinge. I can't see anywhere on it where a spring would be attached. I suspect the spring is inside the oven. Where the hinge enters the body of the oven, it is surrounded by a small panel held in with a retaining clip. Do I pull that out or do I have to take off the whole front of the oven?

Does 102G4F12 mean anything on a Chef Regency fan forced wall oven? That's the model number on the plate.

Hi.

You need to replice either roller door motor, retaining springs, or hinges assembly. The precise diagnosis requires a technician in site. The oven is surely repairable, parts and repair can be obtained contacting the manufacturer at the number on the owner manual.

a chef regence wall oven i have not seen one . but that may be the model and not the brand . like whirlpool (imperial) maytag / majic chef . the hinge should stop the door so ts level and the spring helps to door to stay closed . the spring can only be in two places . either inside the door or in the side of the range . often they use cables to conect the hinge to the spring . see if you can find a model # ________ or the mfg of your range .. **** ..

The door is held shut and assist in open and closing by springs connected to the bottom of the door. If it's a slide in you just slide it out till you can see the arm and spring. The hinge can also be worn causing the problem is the spring isn't broken. With the door open in the broil position lift the door out to do the repair.

Yes the arm is the hinge. The spring is inside where it is. Some are exposed when you slide the oven out from the cabinet. Others you will have to take the cover off.

Got error code F9 while oven cleaning in process. What does this mean?

An F9 error code on a General Electric (GE) oven indicates that the oven's electronic control system has detected a problem with the automatic door lock.
The automatic door lock mechanism prevents the oven door from being opened when the oven is set for "Clean" mode.

The malfunction may be a jammed door lock mechanism, a pinched or broken wire, a faulty lock switch or a fault in the control board itself.

9 out of 10 times the lock switch has failed.

STEP # 1 - Disconnect power to the oven!!

  • Step 2 Open the oven door. Remove three screws from underneath the oven's control panel. Lift the control panel straight up to disengage the mounting pins on the top corners of the panel, then tip the panel toward you.
  • Step 3 Inspect the door lock mechanism. The mechanism is in the lower left area of the space behind the control panel. Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to be certain it moves without binding. Replace the mechanism if its mechanical parts do not function properly.
  • Step 4 Inspect the wires that connect the door lock mechanism to the control panel. Check for pinched or broken wires. Check for wires with frayed insulation2_bing.gif. Repair wires as needed if defects are present.
  • Step 5 Locate the six-pin connector on the door lock motor on the right end of the door lock mechanism.
  • Step 6 Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to the unlocked position. Test the resistance between Pin 3 and Pin 1 of the door lock connector with the ohmmeter. The resistance should be 0. Replace Lock Switch 2 of the door lock mechanism if the resistance reads other than 0.
  • Step 7 Rotate the cam on the door lock mechanism to the locked position. Test the resistance between Pin 3 and Pin 2 of the door lock connector with the ohmmeter. The resistance should be 0. Replace Lock Switch 1 of the door lock mechanism if the resistance reads other than 0.

My oven door does not close tight

These hinges are now obsolete and you cannot get them anywhere. The poblem with this type of hinge is not with weak springs or anything like that, it is with the pivot pin in the door hinge. Follow these instructions and it will not cost you anything for the repair.
It is best to remove the oven from the housing. Remove both sides of the oven panels, you have to remove the top first, then the sides (remove about 20 screws all together). Support the bottom oven door first by tying a bit of string between the bottom and top oven door hand rails. This will stop the door falling down when you remove the springs. unhook the springs and the door will just slide out. (Use a loop of string attached to the back end of the spring to pull it from its holes.)
Dismantle the door by removing the screws. You will probably find that the the hinge pivot pins have come away from the U shaped hinge bracket. The secret is to make sure that these are fixed firm back into the bracket. What I did was to nip the U hinge bracket in a vice, (or use pliers) so that the pin will now protude slightly each side of the bracket. This allows more surface bearing area so the pin will not pull itself out of the hinge. To further make sure, I glued the ends of the pin with epoxy resin.
    Then reassemble.
My door now feels like a new one even though it is 15 years old.

    Smeg F170-5 door joint broken

The door is removed by rotating, on both sides of the door, a clip on the lower of the two struts that connect the door. The clip rotates up and then engages a hook on the upper clip so that the two are held together by the spring mechanism to allow the struts to be lifted out when the door is in a 45° angled position. With the door off there are three screws on the bottom of the inside that allow the inside window assembly to slide off, allowing the parts to be replaced.

GLASS BROKEN ON MY FRIGIDAIRE PRO

Inner or outer? you will have to take the door off, done by lowering door to full open postion and youll see a fold down flap at hinge, fold down and close door and lift. this will allow you to access screws easier. remove handle and four bottom screws. that will allow you to take off outer glass....there will be screws on inside to take out inner glass.

How do get access to the door hinge of my Maytag CWE4800ACB oven

In first, excuse my poor english if i make some mistake.

I hare repair the same problem. part broken in left side and the door fall.
You have to pull out the oven from the wall, use some objet to support the oven, small table or plastic box if you dont want to put down completely.

You have to unsecure the electric wire connection in back if you whant to pull out enough for remove the left cover. You have to remove some parts in front for acces to screws on the side cabinet.

In my case the hinge was broken, i have soldered and fix again.
If hard to replace the spring in the mecanism, you better to do this on the bench before put all in the side of the oven.

I think the maytag oven have the same problem.
Other problem also is the timer alarm sound in the night went you sleeping, prob whit switch sensitif pc board. Now i turn off the breaker in the back of oven all night, and i sleep good.

    Bye..
