Blackberry curve 8310 fatal error during backup

I would connect the device to a PC and update the OS using Desktop Manager. If you recently installed any application, I would uninstall it as this may cause this type of behavior.

Try removing your Facebook app from the phone. Had the same issue and I stopped receiving emails. Once I removed the Facebook app from the phone - it rebooted and all my emails showed up.

There is a few details we need in order to help you better solve your problem. Please let me know the following:

  1. What action on your Blackberry are you trying to do that gives you the ERROR 400 message?
  2. Are you trying to browse the internet whent his action happens or just any programs?
  3. Are you trying to use your phone under a shared work system?
  4. Are you on an individual plan or company plan?
  5. Are you able to do anything after that error message shows up?
  6. If you turn off your phone, take out the battery for a full minute, then put it back in, does that solve this error message?

Constant hourglass symbol-draining battery

Hi, this is called the hourglass of death, the device is stuck in a reboot cycle.

You will need to reload the applications, but you can't use Desktop manager because the device resets and the connection drops.

First make sure the BB is unplugged, then go to Program Files > Common Files >Research In Motion > AppLoader and run loader.exe. Click next, it will say port : COM PORT 1 now is the tricky part you have to plug in the BB and COM 1 will change to PIN: UNKOWN , when this happens you have to quickly click next before it reboots again, then it will ask for pin and now has an connection with the device so you can go ahead and re load all the apps.

Good Luck

Device error 400

You can download desktop manager for free from Blackberry.com web site.

If you are able to get this to work, good luck, because I am unable to get the desktop manager to find the blackberry, nor is the USB port reading what the device is.

But you can give the desktop manager a try,and also download the software for your blackberry. I'd suggest you download the 4.3 version of the software and be sure it is in the language that you speak (they have several, look for ENG for english)

Bang your device hard on the floor a few times and it will come back to life. Seriously!
I REALLY threw it down hard, and then now, after the revolving hourglass for Many many minutes, it's back up and running.
