Question about Printers & Copiers

3 Answers

I have a HP Photosmart 2610 All in One purchased 11/28/05. The Model # is Q3450AR-001; Serial # MY4 7NC7 2CY. The unit is used mostly for printing e-mail photos or photos from my digital camera Media card. I have been advised to use several combinations of ink cartridges including #56, 96, 97. snd 99. Which two are the best and in which locations....left (green) pr right (black) slots. I currently have #97 in the left slot and #96 in the right slot.

I tried following the previous recommendations but, for some reason, I keep getting the message on my printer LCD that it will NOT accept the #99 cartridge. I purchased another new #99 in case there was a defect in the first one. I still get the same display message. I can get decent photos using the #96 and #97 combination but had hoped for even better photo quality from #99. I'd appreciate any suggestions........

After further investigation, I decided to stay with cartridges #96 and 97. I didn't want to change chartridges every time I wanted to print a photo. Neither was I interested in changing the printer set up in my computer. Since my digital camera is very basic, I don't expect to get "professional" looking pictures from it. My expertise in computers is VERY limited and I need to keep things SIMPLE. Thanks for all the suggestions from your group.

Seeing as the 99 is compatible with your printer and is a photo quality cartridge, you may need to change the settings on your pc for the cartridge that is in the printer from say 98 to 99 or whatever it may be set to. I think this would be your best bet. Another thing you could try is resetting the printer by unplugging it for 5 minutes. If neither of these options work, may I suggest that you can call HP at 800-474-6836

your welcome, if you do ever decide to use the 99, you will have to change the cartridge number on the printer settings on the computer. Let me know if you have any further questions now or in the future and I would be glad to help.

Please feel free to give me some feedback by rating my solution as I appreciate any and all that I get and look forward to it.

96&97 was your only best bet, if the 99 was not normally working @ your printer..

Thank you

You can try buffing the contacts gently but this happens quite often with generic cartriges sometimes they just don't work. Contact the vendor and explain the issue, I reckon you'll find that they're fairly used to this problem and will request a return for a refund.

I cannot get my new black print cartridge to align properly. I am using the HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one device.

I bought a new ink cartridge which will print well. But the alignment still does not work for some reason. The printer screen says to "check the device instructions" whatever that means. i am willing to continue to use the printer as is unless you have a simple solution. Thanks Gerald Lord

HP Photosmart 2610

hmm..you may need to remove that premium plus option, through the system preferences folder. Then re install the drivers(get em here for updates) for the Inkjet printer. And be sure to only select the features you really want.
