Uninstall IE and then reboot and install IE again.
I suggest you go to the Microsoft WEB site and download IE8, this is a latest version.

I have lost ALL of my taskbars!! How do I get them back?

A program called explorer.exe controls the display of your taskbar and desktop icons. If for some reason it goes missing (you may have killed it using Task Manager, for example, or something more sinister like a virus has deleted it from your processes), then try this first:
  1. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Task Manager).
  2. On the Applications tab, click New Task at the bottom right of the window.
  3. Type explorer.exe, then click OK.
If nothing sinister caused it to disappear, it should all come back as it was and you can stop panicking, breathe a sigh of relief, and continue working.
If that doesn't work, then try this:
  1. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Task Manager).
  2. Go to the Processes tab.
  3. Click on the Image Name column header to sort the list alphabetically.
  4. Find all explorer.exe processes - select each, then click End Process for each one.
  5. On the Applications tab, click New Task at the bottom right of the window.
  6. Type explorer.exe, then click OK.
Are you using snagit, try to uninstall it and then check if you still get the errors. If you donot use snagit then there would be another error.

If you cant access control panel use the "Windows Key+R" on the keyboard which opens the run dialog and type in 'sysdm.cpl' which opens the control panel.
You could also try to restore you windows using System Restore and select a date of the backup when the computer was working well.

Make sure you do a complete virus scan with a good antivirus with updated virus definitions as it could be a virus too.

CAUSE: This particular issue occures only on multiple processors systems, as quad processors and duo processors systems, when all processors try to play.

SOLUTION:
1. Open Task Manager
2. Go to the process of that browser under PROCESS tab, i.e. iexplore.exe for Internet Explorer
3. Make a right click on it and select SET AFFINITY..
4. You will see all the number of CPU on your system checked, like CPU0, CPU1, CPU3
5. You need check just one CPU.
6. Exit task manager and the game will run smoothy.

What to do when you are not able to safely remove hardware

Windows sometimes does not allow you to safely remove hardware despite of closing all explorer windows as well as all the applications using the drive. It can be very annoying more so when you have to rush somewhere with it.

So here's the trick. Open task manager and click processes see if any video players(usual culprits) that you may have used to play media from the USBdrives such as powerdvd, media player classic are still running. If they are click on them and click end process. If they are not then click on explorer and click end process.

Your taskbar will disappear but dont fear. Just click File on the task manager and click new task. Type in explorer and click ok.

Explorer will start again and your taskbar will re-appear. Now use safely remove hardware to disconnect it and it will be done. If not check if any other applications that you have used to run files from the usb are still running and terminate them using task manager and try again.

I'm using a 1mbps broadband connection to play youtube videos but still it keeps buffering. On checking, I found out that youtube was utilizing only about 400kbps of bandwidth.. Whats the problem??? I...

Close Internet Explorer (Chrome, too).
Press CTRL and ALT and DELETE at the same time, and open "Task Manager".
Click on the "Networking" tab to show the flow through your computer's network-adapter.
It should be "zero" usage, since your web-browsers are not open.

Leave Task Manager open (and maybe minimize it).
Open Internet Explorer, and start viewing a YouTube video.

Restore the Task Manager window, and see the usage of the network adapter.
Tell us what level of usage that you see.

My back ground is black and in bottom right corner it says did not pass windows validation may be a victim of software conterfiting

It's a long shot but try this:

1) Restart your PC
2) Logon and wait for the black screen to appear
3) Make sure your PC should be able to connect to the internet (black screen does not appear to affect this)
4) Press the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys simultaneously
5) When prompted, Click Start Task Manager
6) In Task Manager Click on the Application Tab
7) Next Click New Task
8) Now enter the command:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" "http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=BLACKSCREENFIX"
Note this command assumes that you are using internet explorer as your browser, if not substitute your browser path and file details for those of iexplore.exe or use the Browser option of Task manager to locate it.
9) Click OK and your browser should start up and begin the download process
10) When prompted for the download Click run, the black screen fix program will download and run to automatically fix the issue.
11) Now restart your PC and the black screen problem will hopefully be gone.

Good luck

Links using internet explorer 8 will not open, facebook, farmville, live mail...

Hi,

This is possibly due to the phising filter in the IE 8, to resolve this issue follow the below steps.

Add the facebook.com in to trusted sites loaction, and disabling the add ons in the browser.

1) Check for your internet security settings, or activex or java settings
2)you may try to access the links, without any add-on's to verify if it works fine.
Click the Start button,
Click All Programs and click Accessories
Cclick System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Verify if it works fine and if it works, here's what you can do:

Disable it. If an add-on causes repeated problems, disable it by using Add-on Manager in Internet Explorer.

Report it. When prompted, you might want to report the problem to Microsoft. The report is anonymous and requires nothing from you except your permission. These reports are used to improve our products and to encourage other companies to update and improve theirs.

3) You may also try to optimize Internet explorer on your computer and later verify if you are able to access the links.
Access the link below and follow the steps to optimize Internet explorer.

To Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature, follow these steps:
1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
2. Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER:

open the task manager by pressing CTRL,ALT and DELETE at the same time and selecting task manager, click the applications tab and select IE8, then click on end process. This will stop the need to reboot.
I have had the exact same problem and now use firefox instead, faster and simpler to use. Plus there are so many addons that you can use for downloading and speeding things up.

I am downloading software with problems

Are you using another browser other than IE? Some other browsers use the IE engine and will trigger this message. Also look at you running processes: Press Ctrl+Alt+Del (in Vista then select Task Manager) When task manager appears Click the Processes Tab, then click the word Description in the 5th coloum at the top of that coloum to sort on description. Scroll down to the "I" and see if you see "Internet Explorer" as a running process IF SO, and you know you have shut down Internet Explorer right click on IE and then select End Process and then answer yes. When All instances of IE are remove from the processes then try to reinstall your software. Let me know if this helped you!
