You need to know make and model, state that it is a 220v washer. Any good parts house in the UK should be able to get you the correct valve.

Cold water isn't coming on, only hot?

Not sure what ur saying have u tried changing the hot cold hoses and see what happens? u may have a bad water inlet valve or a bad water temperature switch? first make sure ur getting hot from the house outlet, u can check with a multi meter for continuity to see if either is out

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II is not working properly

its is proberly the cold water vavle open circiut what happends is that if you where doing a normal load when this happend first time the computer in the machine will have stuck on that wash cycle and by putting it on a cold wash it will still fill up with hot water but dont worry if the cold vavle is replaced it will finnish the wash that it started (if this makes sence the cycle that you 1st selected might have been a low temp wash so the hot and cold will both come in together then it censes that the water is to hot so it switches the hot water valve off and the cold will stay on untill the machine fills to the crrect level and the machine carries on and complets that wash ( but because the cold valve is faulty it cant complet the only way to be sure that it is the cold valve valve is to take off the top off the machine and you will see where your cold water pipe connects thats the cold water valve usualy two valves together with 4 wires make sure you are switched off at the plug now swap the wires over on the two valves 2/&/2 one vavle is the rinse & main fill the other is the fab conditioner dont touch the hot valve wires and then what should happen is the machine will go though a complete wash but put it on the wash you started with so it can go though that wash the only thing that by doing this is that it will not take in the fab conditioner (i say it wont but it will because you swopped the wires over its going to fill the fab conditioner compartment and not the rinse compartment so swop the hoses on the valves also they will just pull off at leised you will know that is what your problem is the cold water valve is at fault. when you get the new valves dont forget to switch every thing back to how it should be ie change wires and hoses the machine may stop before spin because you have swoped the wires so dont worry it may not it is the easyest way for me to tell you how to test what i believe to be the problem you can get a set of water valves on line just type in www.espares.co.uk washing machines put in your make model no and water valves or water soliniods and you will find them it will give you the price before you buy anymore help let me know

The hot water not flowing into the washer and the cold water flows fine?

Let's think and work this one thru:

Your machine probably has several temperature settings, right?

So-- when you set it for COLD-- it fills at the normal rate?

When you set it for WARM-- does only COLD water still only come in?

And if you set it for HOT-- Nothing comes in?-- correct?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now lets get to the pipes in the back:
Is there a Laundry sink, or a hose or something nearby, so you can be sure you have HOT water to the Washing Machine?-- Is the Hot water flowing good and strong nearby the WASHING MACHINE-- WHEN YOU TEST IT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And the Valve is not shut at the Washing machine-- (Hot shut, but cold open?)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are sure that you have a good supply of HOT water to the machine,--- If you have tested that you actually have a good flow, -- say with the Hose removed, and you run the Hot water into the machine (by-passing the internal control valve!!)--
Then it sounds like: Either the control is not telling the internal solenoid valve to open-- or the valve needs to be replaced.
Do you want to attempt this repair-- or do you want to call for help at this point?
Let me know what you find-- and how far you want to go by yourself.
Cold water rinse doesn't come in very hard. Just a trickle. Warm works fine. I just had the water shut off due to a water main break which is now fixed and water is back on. Warm wash fills fine. Cold...
Remove the cold water hose and check the screens for debris and clean. Also look inside the water inlet valve where the hose connects there should be a screen in there remove and clean. If this doesn't fix it the water inlet valve will need replacing. Here is a link that will walk you thru cleaning and inspecting the valve http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html
No/low water inlet. Diag mode both ht & cold lights flash
first test water valve ohms reading, this fault could be either control module or water valve.first open top panel to see valves. turn power off to unit. try putting the hot water valve wire to the cold and the cold to the hot. hopefully they will reach, sometimes they dont. then put panel back on with loose screws. turn power on , select low water ,and hot fill.push start button but make sure your hoses r connected and turned on. the reason i"m telling u how to do this is to eliminate the control board as being faulty if the cold water comes into unit then the problem is your computer, if no water comes in it is your water valve.i hope this helps if u still need help please reply
Cold water wont come into machine
Debby,
Some handy links;
FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
You could have a Cold Water inlet screen clogged. Turn off the Cold water supply to the machine and remove the cold water connection at the washer.
Take a pair of needle nose pliers and remove the remove the Cold Water Inlet screen as shown if it is clogged flush clean then reinstall and turn on the Cold Water supply valve.
I have my back Console cover remove for other work. The H/C water valve solenoids are seen here.
If you still have no Cold Water the valve may be stuck closed, or you have no 120VAC being applied to the Cold Water valve.
If you have 120VAC applied to the valve and no water flow the valve assembly will have to be replaced.
You can go into service mode and turn the Cold Water Valve and see if you hear it hum.
Enter / Exit Service Mode
To enter Service Mode press the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the control beeps the display will read 00.
Now got to page 16 of the Service Manual Board Output Test While in Service Mode, pressing the Delicates key will begin the Board Output Test. This test turns on a specified output after a key press.
Now press the Spin Only key…..did you hear the Cold Water valve hum. If so the 120VAC is applied from the Control Board and the valve may be stuck closed. If this is the issue the Water Valve inlet assembly will need to be replaced. Keep in mind I’m a technical owner and would double check the 120VAC on the Cold water valve solenoid before replacing. I’m just providing general info.
A work around if you are a Cold water user only like me is to reverse the hose connections at the washer hot to cold, cold to hot then select hot water fill. You now are filling the washer thru the Hot Water Valve assembly with the cold water supply source. The p/n from searspartsdirect.com is 12002242 for the valve assembly.
If you need to replace try a local parts supplier to make sure your 120VAC connections are the same as the original Water Valve Inlet assembly. The Service Manual will step you thru replacement if this is required.
Good luck and post back if you have questions…….Rich
No cold water Whirpool Extra Large Capacity plus
Remove the hose and look inside the water inlet valve for a screen pull this out and clean if dirty. Also check the screens in the hose. If all is clear the water inlet valve ( cold water solenoid) has failed. This needs to be replaced as a unit. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing the water inlet valve. It's a different model but testing will be the same.
Maytag Performa wont fill hot water
The water fill valve - The water fill valve is a mechanical and electrical part, the coils on the valve need electricity to mechanically open the valve to allow the water to flow into the washer....myth....the washer pumps water into itself...no, it does not. The fill valve opens and the house water pressure pushes the water into the washing machine.
No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. If the hot coils quits, you will still have cold water fill, cold water only on a warm setting and no water on a hot fill setting. You can test a fill valve live for 120 volts, power to a fill valve coil and no fill = a bad fill valve. You can also test the coils for continuity, no continuity = a bad fill valve. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. If you have to shut off the fill valves to stop the water from filling in the washer, you have a bad fill valve and you will have to replace it.
I can't get the cold water to fill the tub/rinse. the hot works.
Your problem is either a clogged COLD fill valve or a bad water fill valve. Turn the water off. Remove the COLD hose from the WASHER. Check the filter screen inside the valve for sediment. If you find sediment,remove the screen and clean it. Replace the screen and turn the water back on. If you do not find sediment on the screen,replace the water valve.
Hot/Cold water knob will not work on washing machine
Does the water flow when you have it on warm or cold settings?  If on warm setting and water flow is cold, its probably the mixing valve.  This part isnt that expensive, and not that hard to replace.  Remove the two front console caps, remove the two console hold down screws then flip the console out and then over the top.  You will see two gold cabinet hold down clamps, pop them out, the lift the whole cabinet off the unit.   You will see the mixing valve right where the inlet hoses connect to the machine.  Let me know if you need further help.
