The sound is screeching when the volume is louder

that screeching is called feedback..which is caused by loop oscillation in plain english that means that sound is going from the speaker to the microphone and "looping" causing feedback noise or "screetching" there is nothing you can do but lower the volume it's a normal phenom not a fault in the product but more user error. sorry to say. the only thing you can do is lower the volume till it goes away.

Feedback noise

You have two clues here to help you solve this problem. First since the volume control turns up the noise, whatever causes this noise is before the volume control. You don't state that the noise is in one channel. If is in both, then a part found in either of the channels can not be the cause. If it is common to both channels you are looking at something common to both channels that is causing it. For example something in the power supply?

I want my ring volume louder

Press Menu button and go to Sound Settings. Choose incoming call and choose volume to select the desired volume of your phone.

Shortcut key to this functionality is to press Menu and then immediately press 9 and then 4 and then 1 to go to Sound Settings.

Tell me if this helped you. Goodluck!

If you use a digital cable box, it could be that the volume on that isn't turned up all the way. I didn't even realize the box had volume controls until 2 years after I got it...makes a HUGE difference now

You can try contacting the manufacturer to see if it can be repaired.

When you have this type of problem, it's generally due to the rotary encoder failing. It's unlikely anyone else will have parts.
