Why has my windows vista home premium system suddenly stopped the sound coming through when I want to play music from napster site through my pc? I have the pc connected to 2 speakerS.

this could be an issue with driver or service failure in the computer..

try restarting the computer in safe mode .. and see if the internal speakers work.. try running a driver update through device manger.. check the cables of course.

if that does not help .. then call 1-877-805-1027 for expert help

Speakers will not "turn on",

Hi. You might want to try a different set of speakers or try the Altec Lansing on a different computer to isolate the issue. This can tell you if the problem is with the computer's sound card or your speakers. If the speakers won't work with any PC, try checking if the wires are all good and/ or soldered properly. Be cautious while doing this. make sure the speakers are not plugged in to any power source. I hope this helps. :-)

Hello, I have a pair of JBL Platinum Series speakers linked to my PC, which are just a few months old. They were working well, but they have stopped working. Although the green light comes on when I turn...

Hi Lauren This is the process of elimination which i would follow in a similar situation: -check cable going from computer to speakers, make sure both ends are plugged in correctly; -ensure sounds are not muted on your computer;
-try to play a song using another program such as windows media player. If this works, it's most likely the iplayer program which has been muted. -If none of this has helped, try plugging the speakers into a different device, such as a stereo headphones jack, ipod headphones jack, even a TV headphones jack. If the speakers still do not work, they are probably no good.
Hope this helps, Benji

Theres no sound ccoming form my computer

On the back of your computer there are three input holes. The speaker wire connector should be green. Match up the the green conector with the green input on the back of the computer. You should now have sound coming from the speaker. If you still do not have sound then you need to make sure you have installed the driver for the sound card. Your speakers should have come with a disk that will have the driver on it.

Good Luck

I have plugged in my speakers at right place but no sound is coming out of it. I also have a sound card of realtek nothing is helping. Please provide some solution.

Try changing the setting from the "Realtek HD Audio Manager" Select the correct input jack, double click it then "Which Device did you Plugin " window will pop up select the appropriate option and shall work. If this Does not work disconnect the speakers from the system, remove the sound drivers & reinstall it again, connect the speaker. This shall work now

Altec Lansing VS4121 no sound

you may want to try to rollback the driver, right click My Computer, left click properties, click hardware, then Device Manager,then sound video and game controllers, double click on the sound card and rollback if available, the speakers may also just simply be bad, If there is a seperate power source for the speakers,(an AC Adapter) then it may not be working correctly even if the power lights come on. The easiest way to determine if its the speakers, try them in a friends laptop or Desktop, on laptop, plug speakers into the headphone jack for sound output. if they work on another PC, then you have a driver issue, OR more than likely a Windows issue, in which case a Restore may be neccesary to fix, refer to the manufacturers instructions to restore your machine. Microsoftrecomends that you reinstall Windows XP at least every 12 months ( to me if it's not broke, don't fix it) in other words if you have no problems or need for a restore, don't do one because it has been over 12 mths. It sounds like you have done a good job at Troubleshooting, but to confirm the culprit try on another PC,(with your Headphones working, but your speakers wont, it sounds like your speakers have malfunctioned. I hope this helps, if so please give a fixya rating, or if it points you in the right direction, just please give appropriate rating. Thanks for the question

Speakers are not being recognised

i would like to know if your on board soud or sound card is not being recognized by your system? as far as i know speaker will not work if your sound device driver is not installed. so maybe theres nothing wrong with your speakers. try to go to my computer properties go to system device hardware and see if there is an yellow exclamation in your sound device. if there is, update the driver using the provided cd from your motherboard, if its on board sound device. but if its a sound card, update the driver using the cd provided from your sound card. but if your sound device is ok and there no yellow exclamation, probably you hooked your speaker connector to the wrong jack. it should be the color green one. try and good luck
