My acer all in one desktop computer's fan isn't working. So my comp heats up. How can I fix the fan?

You need to replace the fan as soon as possible. Your computer might be in trouble running without fan. Just a clarification, what fan are you talking about? Is it the fan from the heatsink? rear or the front fan? But anyway, you can buy cheaper fan from any computer store.

My fan does not work on my HP Pavilion Notebook

This sounds like an issue with the fan itself but may also be a motor driver or temperature feedback control / power management problem. Try replacing the fan with a known working fan. You can buy them at most computer repair shops and even Radio Shack I would not use the computer without the cooling fan working as the CPU may be damaged.

The one beep is normal . If the fan is not working on the CPU , replace the fan or oil it The CPU can go only a second or so without the fan working. Some models(BIOS )will not allow the computer to start if the fan is not working. Start there.Check out the link below:

Asus Laptop freeze after starting

if the fan does not work... don't use the computer till you replace the fan with one that is working.... a good chance you will burn out the cpu. usually thermal shutdown occurs when the cpu gets too hot... you may also want to consider purchasing a notebook cooler....
