Question about Samsung Heating & Cooling

Open Question

A/C Unit SAMSUNG -Outdoor unit model= MH080FXCA 4A was connected to 3 indoor units: · B location – indoor unit model MH035FNCA · C location – indoor unit model MH035FNCA · D location – indoor unit model AQV18JA (This unit has no rotary switch SW02, so I don’t know how to set it for communication with the outdoor unit) I set the outdoor SW01 to 3, because 3 units are connected of possible 4. I moved the dip switch of the outdoor unit to “off” position. I set the indoor B location unit SW01 on position 1. I set the indoor C location unit SW01 on position 2. I rechecked all the communication cabling and piping. Everything is connected properly. When I start the A/C the indoor fan works but the outdoor does not start and I get E2 01 error (communication error). Am I doing something wrong? Can you please help me with any suggestion?

SOURCE: Indoor Grilling vs. Outdoor Grilling.

Basically, if you can grill it outdoor - you can grill it indoors. Notice that indoor grills can't drain liquids as well as outdoor grills, so this should be kept in mind. Bon apetite!

SOURCE: Fujitsu AOT30PMAL inverter outdoor unit not working

Sounds like your compressor is seized or a start fault. If the unit is under five years old it should be under warranty. Call Fujitsu warranty out to have a look at it for you.

After replacing the transmitter batteries several times, I tried replacing the clock batteries. They must have been getting low. Once I put in new batteries in the clock it worked fine. Good Luck.

SOURCE: control cable wires crossed

I would not do anything just yet It might be more prudent to call Panasonic help line, and explain your findings I feel that the system will not have suffered any damage if the control cables have been simply wired incorrectly if that is the problem, try and find a call number from your installation paperwork, good luck.

A/C Unit SAMSUNG -Outdoor unit model= MH080FXCA 4A was connected to 3 indoor units:

It's possible you have a bad data wire on one of the systems. Swap the data wire or both if two with a different wire. (1&4--2&3) whatever. Whatever you do inside obviously do outside. Might have extra resistamce that is throwing the error but will be fine for a ground wire.Or do one system at a time, being sure to change your dip switch settings until you figure out the problem unit. Good Luck!!

After I replaced the pcb on my samsung air conditioner indoor unit it won't start and all 3 led's are blinking

I have had similar problems with Samsung. Apparently, the indoor board fits a lot of different models and each has to be "programmed" in to suit your model. Not sure what was wrong with your machine before but it has been known for these units to have a faulty outdoor fan motor which causes the outdoor board to fail as well. When this happens, the indoor unit will usually work fine for about a minute or 2 and then shut down, with lights flashing. The outdoor wont start at all. If these were the symptoms, I would suggest putting your old indoor PCB back and then getting a new outdoor fan motor and outdoor PCB.

I have a fujitsu air con which is flashing 3 times on the timer. It runs for 10 seconds and then shuts down and then flashes 3 times. Model is a AOTR09LCC

Serial signal (reverse) error, during operation.
Try turning power off at isolator for ten minutes and then switch back on. If error code persists, you will probably need a new controller PCB in the outdoor unit.

When the indoor unit does not receive the signal for 10 consecutive seconds during the operation >Permanent stop after 30 seconds.
[Diagnosis Point]
Check the indoor /outdoor cable connection (in order). If the cable wiring is not abnormal, measure the voltage of the outdoor
unit terminals and diagnose the defective location.
(Refer to the after mentioned [Serial Signal Diagnosis] for the voltage measuring method and diagnosis method.)

Yes it rated for a maximum out put of 36,000 btu (3 ton) with the right indoor fan coil units which based on the model numbers should give the 36,000 btu's combined when both fan coil units are on, otherwise 18,000 btu's (1.5 ton)per fan coil.

I have a samsung air con model FSO9A1VE the indoor unit is working but the outdoor unit is not the air con may have been ruuning for some time as i was not home

Actually, it's not advised to run the a/c when occupant is out for long time. Check in out door unit for power. If not check thermostat setting. Keep +3 degree minimum for cool, than room temp. And -3 for heat than room temp. If power not in out door, check indoor out put out. No power goes to out door, repair/replace PCB.If power in indoor out put and not in out door, replace wire connected in between indoor and out door. Thanks.

What does error code p8 mean

P8 means Abnormality in outdoor unit.
Check:
1) Wrong wiring of indoor/outdoor
connecting wire
2) Reversed phase
3) Protection device is working
4) Damaged outdoor coil thermistor

Solution:
1) Check the indoor/outdoor connecting wire.
2) Change the connection of electric wiring.
3) Check the protection device.
4) Measure the resistance of the outdoor coil thermistor.
If the resistance is normal, replace the
outdoor controller board

Hope, helpful.

THE OUTDOOR UNIT HAS A CONTACTOR WITH THE CONTACTS WELDED TOGETHER THE CONTACTOR CONNECTS TO THE COMPRESSOR AS IT TYPICALLY PULLS A SURGE OF 20 -30 AMPS OR MORE..WITH THE INDOOR UNIT IN FAN ONLY THE COMPRESSOR SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING. THE CONTROL WIRES GOING TO THE UNIT HAVE 24 VOLTS TO THE CONTACTOR TO PULL IN THE CONTACTS TO SUPPLY 220 TO COMPRESSOR.

I have had this problem with a Fujitsu unit before. If the power is supplied to the outdoor unit first but unit is meant to have power supplied to indoor unit first, outdoor will only stop when power is cut off! In that case, you will have to run the power cable to the indoor unit first and then connect from appropriate terminal back to outdoor unit. (Often the indoor will stop outdoor unit by just cutting the power to it via use of a relay on the pcb.)
