Refrigerator side too cold

refrigerators only have one cooling system and that is for the freezer. The fridge part is cooled by sending a portion of the air from the freezer to the fridge. your fridge thermostat controls a fan that turns on and off as needed. first step is to make sure this is working, and not stuck on. turn your fridge to a somewhat warm no and open the door for a few minutes to allow the cold air out then check and see see if it gets very cold again within say an hour. if it does your fan is always on and you need to repair it. if that is working then you have to play with both freezer and fridge settings. best thing is to get a cheap thermometer and check your freezer temp. it should be around 0 to -5f if it is colder than that frigid air blowing into your fridge too cool the whole area will freeze anything close to the vent. once you have your freezer set then start adjusting your fridge. personally I have mine set at 34f knowing that some things on the top shelf will freeze. but I like my cola's COLD. so I put things like butter that are harder to freeze at that level. but if you don't want anything to freeze then a temp of 37 -39f is correct for your fridge. so it comes down to freezer temp, the amount of time the fan is on, and proximity to the vent. good luck

Freezer not freezing.just put new thermastat in it

fridges and freezers work on the following principal: the freezer area is cooled and the cold air is circulated and shared with the fridge area.
So the keys to a good working unit are first to set the freezer so that it is at the desired temperature, then adjust the fridge control to get the desired fridge temperature
air flow is the only thing that the fridge thermostat controls, so keep the clutter in the fridge to a minimum
also dirt and hair dust etc build up on most appliances that have a fan so clean the areas around the back and bottom of the unit
remember any time you work on an electrical appliance unplug it first
lastly fridges with frost free designs need to have a clear drain from under the freezer all the way down to the bottom where the compressor motor is make sure this is also kept clean
if this fails to solve your problem then likely there is a leak in the system or compressor problem, but if this is the case your freezer will not work correctly either
remember the only cooling is done at the freezer znd cold air is sent through the fridge
lastly obviously the fridge and freezer are highly insulated and sealed and these are both important

I have a sharp fridge SJ-P49N-SL. A recent power outtage in the area lasted 8 hours. When the power came back on, the fridge seemed to be ok. But, after 5-6 hours of operation, the freezer is not cold...

Checked Freezer Fan is working. Also checked defrost Fuse in freezer.
To checked freezer fan is working or not open freezer door press Door Switch and checked Cold air is coming from duct or not.

Whirlpool Mod ET18LKXHWo o Fridge not freezing,

Your defrost timer located inside the control panel is bad OR the defrost thermostat located on a freezer coil is bad.
Get down low and look up at the bottom of the control panel.
You will see a small round hole. Onside the hole is the defrost timer advance knob.
Use a flat blade screwdriver and SLOWLY turh the slotted knod clockwise until the refrigerator clicks off.
Wait a few minutes then open the freezer door and listen for a sizzling sound from the freezer compartment.
If you do hear a sizzling sound that would be the defrost heater melting ice.
If you do not hear a sizzling sound, unplug the refrigerator and remove the rear freezer panel to expose the cooling coil.
Clipped to the coil will be the defrost thermostat. It will need replacing.
If you do hear the sizzling sound the defrost timer will need replacing.

Freezer freezes but refrigator not cold

your fan between the freezer and fridge is out. This fan allows the cooling from the freezer to cool your fridge section. This fan is located between the freezer and the fridge in the area of the temp control knob in the fridge. This area should be able to be accessed by pulling the screws that holds the assembly to the top inner part of the fridge. Once this part is removed you can see the fan. Take the model and serial number to the appliance parts store for correct replacement part. Understand that this is a 7 in difficulty on a scale of 1 to 10 to replace so if you feel like it you can repair it yourself however a tech could do it must faster at least you know what is wrong. Good Luck hope this helps on your repair

Fridge barely cool freezer not freezing

Get it checked out. It should be good for another 7 years or so. A new fridge will cost $900 to $2000 and the quality of many of the new ones is not so good.

I have electrocool LG MOdel# GR-382R ser# 206MR17803. my bottom fridge cooler area is freezing up.

I have the same problem. It seems that the gasket around the freezer door and fridge door are no longer tightly adhering to the fridge therefore allowing the cool air from the freezer to continiuously entering the fridge storage and making evreything freeze up. I am trying to find out if I can purchase new gaskets and install them myself.
Any recommendation on where to find these and how to install them?
Thanks.
